Re: MSU1 Patch wishlist
In my opinion I think the most suitable games to implement MSU1 on are the ones that are the most hacked.
Why? Because those MSU1 hacks are more than likely going to be used by other hackers more than other games that are not hacked so much.
For instance you may do the MSU1 hack on an SNES game which doesn't have any hacking tools or hackers. So the MSU1 gets done and then it pretty much dies. People enjoy the new music, but it doesn't go anywhere else.
But now lets say that you take a commonly hacked SNES game which has lots of hacking tools made for it. People will now enjoy the new music, but then they can take it even further. They can make new hacks and swap out the audio with other stuff to fit their project hacks. In other words people will use the MSU1 more since it will be related to their game. It may even be an incentive to make hacks for that particular game.
So my wishlist would be:
Super Metroid
Super Metroid has had many hacks of it done already and has a pretty nice level editor.
Super Mario Kart
SMK has a track editor and several hacks have already been made.
Zombies ate my neighbors
It has a level editor and someone has already made a full fledged hack.
Basically anything that is popularly hacked and has a big fanbase with hacking tools and editors and such. Those are the games that need MSU1 the most!

Re: MSU1 Patch wishlist
Some suggestions off the top of my head.
This more or less goes in order of what I'd be most excited to check out.
That being said, this isn't a particularly pushy list or anything like that, so don't be too upset about me managing to churn out a long list:
1)NINJA GAIDEN TRILOGY (SNES version soundtrack is crap even compared to the NES originals. Restoring the original NES sound might be nice. Alternatively the Ninja Gaiden 2 arrange album and Ninja Gaiden Steel Dragon/Beat Blade Doujin album may be good arrange/remix sources.)
2)Der Langrisser (didn't byuu want this at some point...? Well, anyway, if it was possible to have this work with both the original ROM and byuu's translation, that'd be nice, although I suppose that'd be difficult. Ideally this version would mix/match the best versions out of the various ports of the game.)
3) Fire Emblem SNES game series (I don't know how many tracks for these I could find in a good arrange format, but I've been digging up what I could for Monshou no Nazo, Seisen no Keifu and Thracia 776. Maybe at some point these would come along with some improved translation work for both of them.)
4)TMNTIV: Turtles in Time (I preferred the arcade sound to the SNES sound. It'd also be cool if MSU1 could potentially be used to implement other omissions from the arcade game.)
5)Mega Man X2 (Well, X1 and X3 are done, so...)
6)Super Mario Kart (If at least to check how this would play out on my sd2snes.)
7) Fushigi no Dungeon 2: Fuurai no Shiren (Listing this because it makes sense considering the Satellaview release. Got the appropriate music for it already.)
8)Ihatovo Monogatari (See above)
9) Dragon Quest releases (See above again.)
10)Super Mario All-Stars (Would go well with the Super Mario World set... would just need to find some good SMB2/USA mixes to work with.)
This more or less goes in order of what I'd be most excited to check out.

Re: MSU1 Patch wishlist
Thanks, Kiddo - I added your requests to the first post. I also made a poll out of it (check the first post to vote). Unfortunately, only 10 answers are allowed so I picked top 10 out of the suggestions.
If you want to vote, you can make multiple votes of the games you think a msu support is most urgent. You could vote for all 10 but I'd suggest to vote for less, so msu1 hackers have sort of a compass which are the most wanted games.

Re: MSU1 Patch wishlist
The list isn't closed (and never will be) I added your suggestion to the first post (good suggestion btw). It's only that I only can add 10 suggestions to the poll due to forum restrictions - Thus I can only add SoE to the list but not to the poll.
You can give multiple answers in the poll btw., I now added the option to cancel your vote if you like to revote multiple

Re: MSU1 Patch wishlist
Actually I have a special request for the MSU1 audio enhancement.
Its a rather odd ball title yet its probably one of the easiest MSU1 hacks there is. Its only 1 song that simply just loops forever. The OS exists and again there is only 1 song and that's it.
What is the game you ask?Hong Kong 97!
Song is "i love beijing tiananmen"

Re: MSU1 Patch wishlist
Blargh, I tried to dig up a FLAC of the song but the versions I found weren't based off the one used in Hong Kong 97. :<

on that note, what would be suggested for tracks outside the realm of what was in the arcade game? Some tracks have Sega Genesis counterparts in Hyperstone Heist that somewhat blend in, but... Ideally I'd like to hear the whole of the soundtrack in the arade-style, but that's likely not feasible. Perhaps OCremixes or such may be apt to use instead.
(It's rather frustrating to realize that Ninja Turtles, one of the most popular shows of the 1980s and 1990s, has never had a CD soundtrack release for the original animated series.)

1) None of the tracks sound like the originals
2) It doesn't have the SNES-exclusive levels and modes, so it has the exact same problem as using the arcade version's score.

What about Assault Suit Valken / Cybernator? Apart from being a fantastic action game, it actually has a CD album with every track in the game arranged.
