Re: How old are we?
You are probably the youngest around here. All the new ideas and lots of entusiastic posts (specially the letter to GameMakr) suddenly make sense. Spane is next in line, being in high school I think, judging from the time of his finals.
I am exactly twice as old as you, and SePH and Euclid and RedScorpion are my generation, could take a year or two plus or minus from my age. I guess we are slowly getting to old for game modding, but we are probably motivated because of the nostalgia (since all the major hits of SNES never got a sequel on the SNES console).
You should also know, that GameMakr is even older and already has a family. When you will be our age, you will see, that it is totally logical if GameMakr decides to quit his hack. For me it is all about making the game, rather than playing it.
Regarding your idea of not starting any new hacks, untill the old ones are completed. Zelda3 Lyra Islands is still an unfinished project. You could test your ideas and new gfx on that project. Namely, if you are a supervisor of the game, you have the final word.

Re: How old are we?
I am 28 and started (a little too late) with computer science at university. Therefore i haven't that much time for hacking i want, but from time to time i take a look at the zelda code and do my worst :-D.
By the way, some weeks ago i did buy one of these SNES flash cardridges (Super UFO Pro 8) and it feels so good to play Parallel Worlds on the original SNES :-). I am glad that this thing has a save state function :-D

Re: How old are we?
We should really recommend this, to all the guys, who are buying the repro carts for huge money. The Flash cart is so much better. Also I've heard the Game Doctor supports the save states and even slow down, didn't know that the Super UFO also has save states. So it is basically a "real hardware emulator".

Re: How old are we?
Yes, i think, there is no reason to by a original module with parallel worlds flashed cause....lets face it, this game isn't beatable without savestates :-D
The Super UFO has a "real time save" that is active while the game is on. It's not possible to save the state for the next day. But for this you can save normally, using the sram. The save state function is only to for temporary use while gaming and in parallel worlds, this is absolutely needed.
