A Link to the Past Demastered
I was about halfway through re-converting thepsynergist's 8-bit OST cover with proper loop points, when I randomly thought it would be funny to modify the graphics to use the 2-bit DMG color palette, and, well... one thing led to another, and...
Still needs some work, including some hard-coded colors that aren't found in the HM palette list, and others that just don't look good, but it's basically playable. I'll upload a patch once I get the chance to try and find some of those hard-coded values (the grass at the base of the large trees for one, and the blue border around the text in the intro for another... I think the pendants are also hard-coded, but I should have those documented in the PW 1.2 asm).
I probably won't spend too much time fixing the areas that just look bad, because there are over 2,000 individual palette entries, but I might try out a couple of different quantization algorithms to see if there are any improvements that can be made in bulk. We'll see.
This was mostly a joke that went too far, I don't really see myself putting too much energy into getting it perfect

Man, this is great. I was thinking of something like this just the other day.

The hack looks nice, keep it up. I don't think the font palette is hard-coded, the palette contains blue, unless the blue color is hard-coded for no good reason.

Fun fact, alttp was originally going to be developed for the NES, but due to the scope of the game and the restrictions of the NES and the fact that the SNES was coming out soon, they decided to make it for the SNES.
