- This hack supports one audio track per course set like the original game (e.g. Mario Circuit 1-4 all play the same song), or you can optionally provide a separate audio track for each course individually.
To use 8 tracks for the 8 track types, use PCM numbers 38-72. To have every single track have it's own unique theme, use track numbers 80-119. If e.g., track 94 isn't found (Mario Circuit 1) it will play track 38, which is all default Mario Circuit pcm fallbacks. If no PCM tracks are found, then the game will upload the original soundtrack in its place, which some PCM sets do for specific minor tracks.
Every race track theme has the immediate PCM number following it be the final lap song.

Good afternoon...
A question here, in PCM's: Alternative PCM packs by Kurrono,
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6SxDm7lZTw2RWJNWWFOUl9zc0k/view?usp=drivesdk
there are two pcm's packages in this one, numbered 1-72 and another 80-119,
should i put them together?
Or should I use them separately?
Thank you.

Hmm, that is a good question. I would have to contact Kurrono to clarify. Then again, it would not hurt to try yourself and see what happens. Then report back on your findings. I doubt Kurrono will respond in a timely manner. He went dark for a while now.VVV18 wrote:there are two pcm's packages in this one, numbered 1-72 and another 80-119,

Yes...
I will try to contact him then,
thanks for answering!!!
Here's the answer ...
" One of both works... I have both of them together "

General announcement at all. I have a new job and thus much, much less time to maintain the forum, but I try at least to read new messages daily.
Brutapode, your bug report is again less accurate. Instead of Starman music you should precise e.g. which round, level or something I can do something. Or a video or something. Thanks. I also forwarded your report to qwerty... It's actually his patch.

Well... I did hard getting a star.
So I tried with code 5E38-4DD4 - if you press left before start you can activate the star by pressing x.
I tested with both patches, yes/no resume, works as it should. Maybe you don't have a track 8 or did anything else wrong?
Possibly another user can test as well and confirm working/not working.
Here's the video proof:

It almost sounds like you have circuit music where star music should be. But if that is not so, then I would just re-patch everything from a fresh rom again. One time I patched a Yoshi Island MSU-1 and the game would crash in the pause menu, I re-patched everything again with a fresh rom and everything worked fine. Not sure if the patch program made a mistake or if I did but it is always good to test twice by starting over with a new rom if you find a problem.
On a side note with what conn said earlier, I too got a new job, or a second job I should say. With my wife pregnant and us having a girl soon I have been working two jobs to build a savings and I too have very little time to do fun zeldix and msu-1 stuff. I am still going to try to help out where possible though on the website.

Does somebody recall the difference between qwerties original patch and why I released a 1.2 version?

If I recall correctly, there was a bug discovered that cause issues with the FX PRO cart. I think it was not reading the code correctly for it.

Did you do that?, i can't remember now...
I am using qwertymodo patch and when I use the power star the theme does not play, it just reloads the same song of the current race stage. Does anyone else have that problem? I have patched twice now and some issue
How does the patch 1.2 behave?
==Audio Resume Note==
This hack includes two versions, a "resume" and a "no resume" version. The
only difference is whether or not the music restarts after using a star, or
whether it resumes where it left off. It's mostly just a matter of taste,
so I have included both, but the original game starts over, so if you want
to keep that behavior, use the "no resume" version.
Patch 1.2 works with star theme. However, all versions of the patch does not cut the music off when you lose a race or when you choose to give up by pressing select and choosing the option. Not the worst bug in the world, but is something i found
Just a general information, J and I are working behind the scenes on fixing some bugs. There will probably be an update in the next days
conn and I found a bunch of tiny mistakes in the previous patch but we almost got it fixed. I would expecct either Sunday or Monday we will have a correct patch and I will also be releasing my new PCM set. Anyone that plays this MSU-1 ought to comeback and redownload the new patch when we finish it.
That game really is not easy. Huge respect for qwertymodo initial release. I had to shift coding regions and stuff alike to avoid graphical glitches. So far I was able to fix everything J reported so cross fingers that we are on the final meters.
This is just for safe keeping, I am about to redo the entire first post and I am going to post in the comments how it looked before just in case mistakes are made we have a backup

Ok! It is updated. Conn and I found many tiny mistakes in the old patch, so everyone should update their patch.
PATCH
SMK patch v1.3 (by qwertymodo and Conn):
https://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/stuff/Con/smk_msu.zip
ALSO, I found PCM numbering mistakes in nearly every PCM set and they are now fixed, so you should redownload your favorite PCM set. Basically, to have everything play correctly, you want to redownload everything from scratch. We also made all the sets have the same PCM naming, which is smk_msu1-#
Before they were all named differently. Make sure when updating your patch and PCM set you watch the naming
ALSO! I am releasing my brand new PCM set right now!

Huge thanks to qwertymodo for starting the patch and Conn for touching up a few errors found. If you find anything we missed, please let us know. Thank You!
