Super Star Wars Trilogy
Super Star Wars Trilogy MSU1 release using the original John Williams movie soundtracks.
*Note: In the patch zip for Super Star Wars there are two patches. One for each revision of the game (v1.0 and v1.1/Rev A). Apply the correct patch for the ROM revision of your choice.
There are also revisions of Empire and Jedi, but the single patch included for each game works on v1.0 and v.1.1/Rev A.

Super Star Wars Trilogy :: Comments
I just streamed all three SSW MSU-1 intros. I'll edit the video down once it has finished processing.
I replaced Relikk's pic in the first post with your video. Let's see if it gets a DMCA
Watching the video, there's a problem in ssw3 with the laser sword in the demo. I tested it and it's a problem with my mute code. I try to find a better one, but do not know whether I succeed
What's the timecode on the video where you saw/heard, or rather didn't hear it?
It appears at 24:29, watch it from 24:20 (horrible scratching).
This happens also when you play the rom in snes9x/bsnes. BUT: if you delete ssw3_msu1-6.pcm (so you have mute at the demo intro), this sfx bug is gone.
This means it is probably NOT a problem with my mute code, but a weird msu coding bug, means an emulator flaw - nothing I can do.
If only the demo is affected, I am happy. If it also occurs ingame, we have a problem

Pretty sure that's just distortion because the overall audio was clipping. The falling rocks in particular is causing it. Return of the Jedi is a little bit louder than the other two games so, whatever threshold Smokemonster had for the audio on his stream, it was being exceeded.
No, I also tested it with other pcm:s like MK3, DKC2 pcm:s (renamed to ssw3_msu1-6.pcm)... you hear it as well. It's only gone if no track is found (delete ssw3_msu1-6.pcm)
Unfortunately, also the game itself is affected when playing as Luke. I tested level 2... and only if you swing your laser sword. If you do not have that msu file (pcm-6) there is no problem with that sfx again.
I therefore really think it's not my mute code, but that the emulator has a problem playing this special sfx and msu together.

Then it's strange... on my computer I have the same problems as it appears in the video.
Then my guess is that it has something to do with the soundcard a PC has. Really weird.
Smokemonster, did you make the video with an emulator or sd2snes?

Made a quick video and compiled some Luke action from the demo. This is what I get, all the time.
That distortion is something to do with SNES9x. I tested Return of the Jedi on my SD2SNES and there's no distortions.
I tested on snes9x and bsnes and have the distortions as well.
Relikk tried also on emu (PC), but doesn't have these distortions.
Thanks for trying sd2snes. Good they do not appear there.
Summing up the infos (you and I have them, Relikk not on PC), I assume it is a problem with the soundcard, or better with the emulator incompatibility with that soundcard at this special sfx.
From the coding side, here is nothing I can do

Thank You Guy's I wanted to ask you if you could do it because i have the original music soundtrack but I did not know if you had the time too
I also just tested in BSNES and there are no distortions. Must just be some flaw in our setups or the emulator. Since it works perfectly on real hardware, the hack is good.
I can confirm that bsnes works great as well (maybe I tested snes9x and only thought it was bsnes last time).
Until qwerty maybe fixes this, I think bsnes is the emu of choice until then.

These are awesome. Works good so far on sd2snes. I am getting my ass kicked and im not making it that far in each game though. Thanks
Thx guys for this, waiting long for this.
Keep up the good work and many thx.

Great work guys, I wont be making videos of these because the audio will be muted the second the video goes live. I do however hope to make a soundpack with my Star Wars chiptune covers one day...
