Is there a difference between fb02 and 0002? They both play the same song

Re: E.V.O. msu1 patch
There are 2 things with your doc (I can't edit it myself, only read):
- the pcm must start with 0 (your start with 1 causing a shift)
- I was wrong with theme 5 being mute. If I use the technique from first post and replace the d with 5 it will play an own theme 5. It's strange that this one gets loaded first when starting the game and right after replaced by 11. But maybe it is played somewhere later
I added v3 to the first post. Next to the freeze bug fix in v2 I also added a fade and a loop table (all values set to 03 though until mapping is finished. Then I set the non-loops to 01). I hope it all works. If the fade is too slow/fast, let me know.

Awesome work, I'm happy to see that you're almost done, and no rush
If you have some places unmapped after finishing, you can check them using the technique in the first post, writing the other value in the A box. If you can't recognize the theme we'll leave it as spc fallback then.

Hey JUD6MENT, I can pick it up for you. You have done a great job so far and this is the least I can do for you. I will make sure that I write everything down and send it to you so you can put it into the google doc sheet. If there is more info that you have not posted but wanted to just let me know :-)

Re: E.V.O. msu1 patch
Make sure it is in the same folder from where you loaded your rom at. Its also a save state and not a save file so you will have to open state #1 in bsnes i don't know if that helps or not. I also dont know if you need the same cheat codes active before opening, but i would seriously guess you don't need the cheats active, but maybe worth a try.

Re: E.V.O. msu1 patch
Mmmm.... Honestly maybe you should find another save file online that is saved right before the end boss and try that, i am only about the last 4 levels away from beating it and i think the last level in the game is the level that will have the remainder of the music i dont have mapped out. I googled for a donkey country 2 save file online to help me test out the music tracks i was making for my own PCM list for that game so i bet you can just find one by googling for evo

Re: E.V.O. msu1 patch
For me it works. My rom name is evo_msu1.sfc (must be the same name as the bst), evo_msu1-1.bst is in the same folder like the rom.
Bsnes: Tools -> load quick state -> slot1
Does this game use sram / password system or anything btw? I don't find "continue" or something.
Edit: I found it: you need to press "select", then you can save the game. Once a savestate is detected, you have the option "continue game" on the start screen.
Attached is the savestate in srm by JUD6MENT.

Re: E.V.O. msu1 patch
It looks like there are conflicts:
Desert wavey
1ef904 jsl $308000 [308000] A:fe1c X:0000 Y:0000
Desert Queen Bee
1ef904 jsl $308000 [308000] A:001c X:0000 Y:0000
This is no conflict at all, but I nevertheless added a v4 to first post which disables double play.
In this case it is theme 1c which is two times loaded, but only 1 time played. Just alike the theme 5 at the start (that we thought to be mute) - this theme 5 never gets a play signal.
Here it is the same: theme 1c is loaded 2 times, but only gets one time a play signal. I however disabled the double play in v4 to save time (important e.g. for sd2snes).
You can check what is played in the end making 2 breakpoints:
2004 - Write
2007 - Write
It will then break as soon a new track is introduced (2004) and when this track is played (2007).
(2007 play signal is always 03 until I filled the loop table with 01 (non-loop tracks). This will only break however in case you have a pcm track (spc fallback won't trigger this breakpoint).

Re: E.V.O. msu1 patch
I have a lossless source for the PC-98 arranged version and I'll get working on that later on today when I get home and have it uploaded later this evening. It was released 2 years before the SNES game and they're exactly the same songs, just slightly different (synth) instrumentation.

PC-98 arranged version PCMs: https://mega.nz/#!V3YnXaiC!G6O-Xrxp-baPGczIMt6S65JER4aSQDBPBb7lLNP08zY
Again, these aren't volume optimised for the game as I haven't played it, but once the patch and PCM assignments are complete I'll finish that part.
There's about 3 tunes in there that don't seem to be a part of the SNES soundtrack (and some songs are missing from the other version). I've named them the same as the original set, and you'll be able to spot the new tracks straight away as they don't have an equivalent from the original set. So maybe they can be used as replacements for anything that's missing, or you can mix and match between sets if you like.

I just saw that you had multiple breakpoints on the same track and wondered/traced why. There's no need to retrace with these new breakpoints, sinceSo, Do you want me to put 2004 and 2007 in the break point with V4 patched to the game to see what music gets played. Is that correct?
- you'd need a complete pcm set (spc fallback won't trigger the 2007 breakpoint)
- If A=fe1c or A=001c we all now that only 1c is meant (it's just a redundant load of the track but it only gets one playsignal
So all is good
