Alien 3 :: Comments

El mérito es vuestro, todavía soy un novato en esto xD
About my pack, there is still some minor changes to do, but i eventually will doing in the next days:
-To add a -14 silent track for compatibility to SD2SNES.
-To add 1 second of silent in the beggining of the track -0 to synchronize the sound with the zooming.
-To add 3 seconds of silent in the beggining of the rest of the stage tracks to keep silent the "logging off" state of the computer, like in the original game.
And i must to ask about the track -32 (corridors of fury). We did it just in case the game could call it, but i'm seeing that the game just call another tracks for every mission of the computer... Is "corridors of fury" really played only one time in all the whole game, and only during a fewer seconds? (cause you need to enter in the computer to choose missions).
@Señor Ventura As far as I played to Stage 3, I only noticed it being called at the beginning of every stage. After that, the music change depends on the mission Ripley takes from the console. Someone would have to play the game all the way through to confirm. Or just sit through a YouTube long play video too.
Conn coded the extra “Corridors“ track as a safety (just in case). Better to be safe than sorry, I guess. Unfortunately, for the PCM artists it means more bloated PCM sets.

Just leave the 32 inside I'd say. It's a small pack anyways and as Pev suggests, better be on the safe side
Let us know as comment in case the link for your pcm pack changed ( if you only modifiy it in the first post, nobody will know there was a change).

Ok, all is done now, nothing remains to do already, except the little detail of the slightly click of the beggining of the track -0, but the rest is finished.
Report status:
-Track 14 added.
-Intro music synchronized with the title.
-All the stage tracks sunchronized with the "exiting terminal".
-All looped.

Your track 14 is a 0 byte track... I am aware that when real hardware loops a 0 byte track infinitely that this is a bit unhealthy. There didn't appear issues yet but you never know, such stuff is more sensitive than emulators. Therefore I asked Pev in the topic to extend the mute track to at least 5 seconds.
So to be on the safe side that sd2snes doesn't explode, I set the loop info to 01, means no loop in a new patch version:
http://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/stuff/Con/alien3_msu1.zip
db $01,$01,$03,$03,$03,$03,$03,$03,$03,$01,$03,$01,$01,$01,$01,$03 ; themes 00-0f - 00
So nothing to re-adjust from your side, that's just to make pcm devs aware of this

@Would be better if track -14 is of 5 seconds?. This night i will do it then
edit: Could it necessary to extend the silent durantion in all the null tracks too? (-11, -13, -14).

As said, I already adjusted the loop table to play all mute themes only once, so no need to re upload the set
Tracks 11 and 13 are never called so you can leave them away.

Ok, i see now ($01), i was hurry and i couldn't read it ^^
Perfect, then
There left three tracks with clicks, these are corrected now, and this is the final fixing edit.
alien3_msu1-8
alien3_msu1-9
alien3_msu1-10
Note: The alien3_msu1-10 is non looped (in the loop table is marked like looped).

The track $0A (decimal 10) plays continuously in the SPC version after the game is ended and credits finished (hence it set as loop). As far as I know, it is correct to be set as loop. I can double check to make sure.
Well... the track list seems to be ok. In the actual pack there is a track that doesn't appears in the new list (alien3_msu1-14), but it occupies 0 Bytes, so we can leave it as is.
Is the patch updated?.

My patches are always up to date.
The 0 byte track is a mute placeholder, otherwise it will give a horrible sound on sd2snes.
