Re: EarthBound
ToAll, Hello everyone, I wanted to post this link https://www.romhacking.net/reviews/5288/#review.
Its a new version of MaternalBound Redux, it does have msu-1 support and is made by ShadowOne333. I just wanted to let everyone know. I hope this helps . Have a great week.
P.S to the Mods on here, I hope my link posting does not cause trouble, Its made from Shadow, and I did not think its a enhancement patch at all. But if you think differently, I will be more then happy to move it. :-D

Could anyone please share another link for the PCM set by ShadowOne333? Whenever i try downloading from the box link it says page not found. Thanks.
The link works and the files are about 1GB... our host space are limited, so please try to get it with the current links (we only fix links if they are indeed broken). The problem should be at your side, try with firefox maybe.
This is because the patches were not ported to Pal-N; however: using your Snes Pal, your SD2SNES / FXPAK PRO with the region in AUTO / 60Hz, Auto Region Patch = On, Enable SuperCIC = Yes, Menu video mode = 60Hz, Game video mode = AUTO / 60Hz, your TV must support all, PAL-M, PAL-N, NTSC, so it should work but, possibly you should have an Upscaler (XRGB / OSSC / HD VIDEO CONVETER, etc.) along with an RGB Sync on Luma cable, ok ...
I use a Snes NTSC / USA, RGB Sync On Luma cable, Upscaler HD Video Converter, a 4k latest generation TV from LG, my Snes runs about 85% like a tube TV, in addition to my N64 in the same customization and, a Snes CLassic Edition coupled too!
There is a french pal version inside the msu patch package.
If you try the US version on pal it should nevertheless work - I think sd2snes automatically switch the fps, but I can't tell. Try whyt vvv18 suggested ( Auto Region Patch = On) - if not, you should ask this in a sd2snes forum.
At least you are the first person reported problems with running ntsc on pal sd2snes.

Another option for you would be to region mod your console along with a 50/60Hz switch. It might work out cheaper if you're handy with a soldering iron, or if you know someone that can do it for you.
PAL is trash when it comes to consoles pre-PS2/Xbox/GC era.
But yeah, as already said the "Auto Region Patch" option in your SD2SNES configuration menu should really be handling this error.

Hey there!
Dropping by to share two new tracks for the MSU-1 PCM pack I made some time ago.
This updates/replaces track 80, which is the "Venus Live!" track.
The updated PCM features full-live vocals, courtesy of Niribelle, and I worked on the instrumentation, mixing, tempo fixes, editing and conversion and work for the original WAV track, as well as in-game footage.
A preview of the track in full display in-game can be seen here on Niribelle's YouTube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jQ47Ovaib0
I also noticed another cover of the song is on YouTube by WaffleGM feat. DeltaSilver64, and took the liberty to convert it to PCM, so users can use this one if they so desire:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqk-CNK2VWs
Now for the tracks:
Niribelle's Venus Live! (Recommended):

@pepillopev if you have the time, could you add Niribelle's version to the PCM pack, please?
I'll add the optional track in the OP as a separate download.
Thanks! Enjoy the new track!

Give me some time to prepare and upload. I am adding your updated file to the existing one and renamed it to eb_msu1-80_NiribelleVenusLive.pcm. I will leave it up to the end user to decide what they want. If you want me to just overwrite the original one, let me know.ShadowOne333 wrote:@pepillopev if you have the time, could you add Niribelle's version to the PCM pack, please?

EDIT: Thanks for your contribution. Much appreciated.
I think it's safe to overwrite the original one, as it still had the original MIDI instrument from EB for the vocals.
This one is a proper re-instrumentation, with real vocals from Niribelle.
If you want, you could include the 2nd optional patch in that way, like "eb_msu1-80_WaffleGMVenusLive.pcm", and the Niribelle version being the normal "eb_msu1-80.pcm"
Thanks again, Pepillopev!

I'm glad to see how well received your PCM pack has been
Also, two tidbits of info:
1) Conn, the problem with the RAM addresses mentioned before has been addressed and fixed!
We used addresses 7E0100-7E0103 for the CoilSnake script instead of the original 7FFFF0-7FFFF3 RAM addresses and everything seems to work properly now on our end with CoilSnake compiled ROMs
2) Starmen.net user @vince94 is still working on his PCM pack as well. Although, he is giving his pack a whole original approach, so expect his pack down the line!
https://github.com/pk-hack/CoilSnake/wiki/CCScript-Library
Those are the .css files there for coilsnake. For those that do not know. Run "coilsnake 4.0", "decompile rom", add the .css files into the .css folder, and then "compile rom". "auto_run.css" was updated last time I used the program, a year or so ago.
You can have the "New Status Window", "auto run", "msu-1", without any conflicts, (and the background fix to stop that annoying black bar stretch, after battles, via a hex editor, before you use coilsnake)...........("ebpp.ccs, asm68516.ccs") will also need to add either the first one or both, they enable .css commands to run that maybe referenced in other files, (coilsnake fails to compile) (https://secure.fangamer.com/forum/Community/PKHack/CoilSnake-v4-September-8-2019)
.............
.............
(the earthbound hacks...........unfortunately like the chrono trigger hacks, are built around "providing access", either to areas, ingame content, or, implied with new text............the original tone of the game was to "not have any access", the theme of the "vagabond/hobo".............many of the other game elements fail)
(i'm totally for hacks and fixes, just not game breaking mechanics, which brings me back to reprising the original release over the hacks)
Is it right to first apply the MSU patch
and the translation afterwards?
I couldnt get it to work the other way around
(although it was said to first apply the translation
and then the msu patch..)
I get easily confused...
although... I have finished 111 patches so far
and all run perfectly
3 more that wont work...
Gundam Wing, Lufia 1 and Starfox..
and Killer Instinct is "soso.."
and the translation afterwards?

but I am so happy that this site exists..
Killer Instinct would be a dream (It seems to me like the songs arent in order)
Star Fox would be nice to see with video
Gundam would also be nice
Lufia too...
but beyond that.. to have more than 100 games enhanced in this way..
It really is...
You guys are friggin´ awesome

The problem you encounter is that the translation patch needs a header. I could supply you with the translation for headerless rom, but I want you to learn about it so give it a shot yourself.
If you apply the translation on your unheadered rom without msu1, it will crash as well. So if you have a headerless rom, you need to add a header before applying the translation patch.
I use this translation:
https://snes-projects.de/filebase/index.php?download/1192/
And this program (Tush) to add/remove a header:
https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/608/
1. add a header to your native (unpatched) earthbound rom using Tush
2. Apply the german translation (and test the rom, size should be 6.145 kb)
3. Use Tush again to remove the header
4. apply the msu patch, rename to to eb_msu1.sfc and enjoy
Ps: all our patches are for Roms with romoved header (except bszelda). I'm not sure where your problems with lufia, star fox and so on originate, but they are all tested by us and various players, so the problem is assumed to be at your side.
Checking the base rom (headerless, correct version and so on) would be the first thing I recommend

Thanks for the mirror, Conn. I also re-added the missing segments so the original link has them all again. Sorry for not paying any attention to it, but in my defense, nobody messaged me about it.
Hi everyone was just wondering if someone can update the links in ShadowOne333's pcm set, all links give a not found error please and thankyou
For me it works... you need to click on the specific name, e.g.,
ebound-msu1.part1.rar
and then "download".
ebound-msu1.part1.rar
and then "download".
