How to change boss rooms correctly?

Everything is fine up until the crystal flies up, once it does, it softlocks. I assume it's because the room I'm fighting the boss isn't hardcoded to be a boss room.
Is there a way to change the hardcoded boss room (41 to 72 in decimal) (29 to 48 in hex)?
