After Burner II (MD+ & MSU-MD) :: Comments
Re: After Burner II (MD+ & MSU-MD)
@ToAll I will post the other oddball arcade tracks soon. Listed below...
After Burner (Extended) -> no need as the original is technically extended as it is looped
Final Take Off (Melody)
After Burner (Melody)
These will be in a separate pack (as an option to use instead of the normal tracks 5 and 6 in the original set).
UPDATE: Ok, the melody tracks are posted above. Just overwrite the original pack with the alternate pack you have chosen to use. The two melody version tracks are a tad longer (hence, the larger file size).

Are these tracks looped, short/fade out, or extended? This determines if I place them under MSU-MD or MD+.jerrymh wrote:Hellow, I wanto to share another soundpack for afterburner2 cdmix from sega CD
Update: I just moved your set to the top under MSU-MD section. When I get more information from you. I will update accordingly.
Update 2: Never mind. I see the file name states MSU-MD. So, there it will remain.
They just restart, so there is a little stop beetwen heach restart, but has enough time to finish the stage, you never heard that the track ends.pepillopev wrote:Are these tracks looped, short/fade out, or extended? This determines if I place them under MSU-MD or MD+.

Tested it on retroarch and Megaeverdrive pro.
Also have a mix for the Street Fighter CE ArcadeTV patch, but not see the entry on this forum.
Also Have the OST for Aeroblasters/Air buster from the CDmix but not know if anyone want to make the patch for it. Already matched the tracks with the https://project2612.org/ list
Ah, so not seamless looped (just extended). Ok, so it belongs in MSU-MD section.jerryhm wrote:They just restart, so there is a little stop beetwen heach restart, but has enough time to finish the stage, you never heard that the track ends.
I think someone is working on a MD+ version. No confirmation on MSU-MD version yet. Also Have the OST for Aeroblasters/Air buster from the CDmix but not know if anyone want to make the patch for it...

I hope to create a MSU-MD version soon. Any help is appreciated.

MSU-MD and MD+ sound packs are compatible with each other. If you did one for MD+, it will work with the other (given that you did not seamless loop the MD+ set the correct way). Give me a moment to see how you did this pack. It will determine its placement.afterburner wrote:I hope to create a MSU-MD version soon. Any help is appreciated.
@afterburner Ok, I see you correctly used MD+ loop triggers in the sound pack CUE file (will post in a bit to the top). So this MD+ pack will not work well with MSU-MD (due to seamless loops). For MSU-MD, the loop points are set in the MSU-MD code. I do not recall if After Burner had seamless loop option baked in. I would have to recheck.
I would follow up with ArcadeTV. He deals with MSU-MD and can give you a straight answer regarding seamless loop with MSU-MD. You can find him either on twitter...
or ask him over at his GitHub page here...
Update: Ugh, Relikk pointed out something. I jumped the gun by only focusing on the CUE file and assumed the rest of your pack was looped. No worries, Relikk will PM you on what to do. Apologies for this mishap.

@afterburner Ok, posted your contribution to the top. Much appreciated.
Thank you for the kind comments and for sharing it above. I wanted to give back to the community, and hope others have fun.
Using a completed MSU-MD version above, I may find software to separate the .bin into audio tracks, experiment with mine as replacements and reassemble a compatible .bin. If it tests well on all compatible hardware, I'll update- unless someone else sorts it before I can.

@afterburner Ok, I went ahead and seamless looped your sound pack for MD+. It was a quick and dirty job but it came out ok listening/verifying the loop points with Audacity. Feel free to download and test on your Genesis Model 1 with MegaSD flash cart to ensure it properly loops w/o issue. Tested and loops w/o issue.
I normalized your sound pack to the best of my ability, given that it was already saturated to begin with. It should be at an acceptable volume level on the MegaSD. Keep in mind that this v2 sound pack is not optimized for MSU-MD use.
If you want to find out how this was done, the offer I made to you via PM still stands.
As for MSU-MD version. You will need to collaborate with ArcadeTV to figure out how to implement your sound pack's loop points.
Update 05-14-21: Tested the updated V2 sound pack and it loops w/o issue using MAME MD+ emulator fork. Not tested on MegaSD yet. I posted it at the top.

Thank you Pev! I just tested your changes on my MegaSD and all tracks seem to flow without issue. Other than a volume difference (as expected from normalization), I don't notice anything different from my original. Maybe mine had only theoretical loop issues vs actual? In both my original and your changes, all music abruptly changes to a new song after some stages which is fine by me.
If you are happy with your changes, I'm fine with them too.
Update 05-16-21: More info at https://www.subscribestar.com/sky-magnifique
Now there are BOTH a proper MD+ and a MSU-MD version of my sound packs so compatibility works for MiSTer, Everdrive Pro, MegaSD and emulation.
