Re: Raiden Trad (MD+)
First of all I would like to thank you for this immense work here, I am very happy when a new release appears.
A while ago a hacker named fusaru created a patch for Raiden Trad that restored the graphics in Arcade, I would like if anyone can create a patch for this version of Fusaru that turns the game into something wonderful.

Patch checker says it's compatible if you patch your ROM with fusaru's first, then the MD+ patch on top of it.
It's quite possible it's not compatible, just going by what Patch Checker is saying. It's not infallible.
I tried again and it failed, it had a blue screen.
A pity because with arcade graphics and fm towns trail, it is a sensational version.
I hope for a future patch.
Thank you again

There was a conflict between fusaru and infinest patches at ROM region FFC00. I just relocated infinest's MD+ code to FFC30. Below is a patch with both hacks merged as one. Just apply to clean Raiden Trad ROM. I tested on MegaSD w/o issue. Have not tested on MAME MD+ fork.Chev Chelios wrote:I hope for a future patch.
I informed infinest via Discord so he is aware of it too (ie, make changes to his Github source if he wants).
--- NO LONGER NEEDED AS UPDATED 1.1 PATCH IS NOW COMPATIBLE WITH FUSARU ---
Update: Testing would be nice to ensure this merged patch is good

I tested it man!
It was wonderful, it's like another game now, beautiful graphics and great music.
Thank you for the effort.

@ToAll infinest updated his MD+ patch to version 1.1 and it is now compatible with fusaru's arcade patch. The patches can be applied in any order.
Hi, first I just want to clear about this patch. Is with this patch will replace MD original audio background music with arcade version of background music? So, after the patch success, the output is .MD ? It's possible to attach that big size of audio file into MD file?
If so, could you help to guide step by step how to patch the audio please?
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you.

Yes, your assumption is mostly correct. The catch is that you can only use it with specific hardware and emulators. If you have a MegaSD or a Mega Everdrive Pro flash cart you can use these hacks with original Mega Drive/Genesis consoles. The other option is using the Genesis Plus GX emulator in RetroArch. Do you have any of those flash carts or access to the emulator?
I'm usually using Fusion emulator for playing MD/Gen game.
I successfully done patching the patch that done by fusaru, using StealthPatch. But I have no idea how to patch the MD+ arcade background music.

MD+ hacks will not work with Fusion, unfortunately. The options I listed are the only ways they can be played, at the moment.
The patching process, and Genesis Plus GX settings adjustments are covered at the top of this post: https://www.zeldix.net/t2175-md-emulators-genesis-plus-gx-mame

Hi, I want to ask you again, about Screen Refresh Rate setting option that doesn't exist in Slider Controls menu (I'm using MD+ MAME v0.171 (win32)).
It's different options list with the MD+ MAME version in screen shoot image on page https://www.zeldix.net/t2175-md-emulators-genesis-plus-gx-mame.
I try to run it from cmd using: mdmame genesisplus -cart game.md -cdrom game.cue -debug
for running the game in 60fps, but it's still running in 50fps (slower).
Could you please help to solve this issue?
Where to setting up Screen Refresh Rate in MD+ MAME v0.171 (win32)?

I also try running it using cmd: mdmame genesis -cart game.md
and game running in 60fps,
but when using: mdmame genesisplus -cart game.md, game running in 50fps.

The MD+ implementation in MAME is buggy, outdated and not recommended.
Cheats need to be enabled for that option to appear. If you open the main mametiny program and can see the UI, go to "Configure Options", then "Miscellaneous Options", set the cheats option to on. Return to the previous menu and "Save Configuration". Or you could edit your mame.ini file in the root diectory and edit cheats from 0 to 1 and save the INI file. If you don't have an INI file then you can create one with command line using "mametiny -cc".
