Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers (MD+) :: Comments
No, there is no MSU-MD patch at this moment in time.rodrigo wrote:Is there a patch for msu-md?
If anybody around knows how to do this kind of thing I would love to learn how to create MSU-MD patches. SSF2 is one of my favorites and I'd love to help with it if anyone is working on it. Just need a complete walkthrough of the process. Can't find anything on how to do it.
Is there a way using MD+ capabilities for changing some voices?
The commentator of the game, and guile "sonic boom". Because they sounds hiper soft compared to how they sound in the original sf2. I dont know what where they thinking.

You'll need to have some knowledge of 68k assembly language. Pev linked a video in the tools subforum that might be of some help: https://www.zeldix.net/t1989-learn-68000-assembly-programming-resources

I remember neodev, in the early days of the MegaSD when he was releasing MD+ hacks, wanted to do something with the voices in this game using the Mega CD ADPCM capabilities. It's definitely possible.
What emulator shouldni use to play this i am new to playing thispepillopev wrote:No, there is no MSU-MD patch at this moment in time.
Hello!
Can you add the audio of the CD32 version?
Thanks.

Thanks.
The MS-DOS version linked in the OP should be the same as the CD32 version. Try that one.
Thanks for the info, you're right !Relikk wrote:The MS-DOS version linked in the OP should be the same as the CD32 version. Try that one.
Hi guys!!! How u doing?
All these versions are great and works beautifully, but someone knows if there's a Nintendo Switch audio tracks version? I know how hard is to make it, I've done it for SNES once, but I've no idea how to make it happen on Genesis side! It would be great if we had a NS version.

I always thought it was the same as the HD Remix version (I'm not a fan of the art style of either of those games so I never confirmed it), but apparently it's not. I'll get around to it over the next day, or so.
@Relikk, I've found an old project I've done myself, where I've converted the audios from Ultra Street Fighter II to this MD+ mod, but was made for Street Fighter II Remaster, that one done by Pyron. Could I post it here? Could it be helpful to do this SSF2 conversion?
I already have source files which I'm about a third of the way through, at the moment, but if you mean you have a finished product that's properly looped and volume balanced then you can post that. If not, then you might as well wait until I've finished, which will be sometime tomorrow. Patience, young grasshopper.

OMG!!! Thanks a LOT!!! My old project is unfinished, and has some volume issues!!! I'll wait for it
Thankfully the character ending themes are the same as HD Remix, so that saved me a lot of time. Ultra SFII link has been added to the first post.
NOTE: There is a constant audible glitch in Dhalsim's heavy damage stage theme. This is not an error on my part or something that occurred during the conversion process from the source files. This actually made it in to the retail version of Ultra Street Fighter II.

Thank you very much!!! Like the others, this pack is wonderful!!!
The only thing seemed strange to me, was the intro theme you choose for this pack, but I understand why you did this choice: you used HD Remix intro theme, because the Ultra theme has a voice spelling "Ultra Street Fighter II The Final Challengers", and this conflicts with the game name. But for the other audio files, it's like the Monalisa of the MSU packs!!!
Again, thank you for this MSU pack!!! You are the best!

Yep. That would be why, along with the other sound effects as well.
X68000 YM2151 version added to the audio packs.
This is fantastic, Thankyou. I did read with interest about being able to use this feature to change the voices. That would be amazing if possible. Imagine Champion Edition Remastered with Arcade Voices. You would have a near Arcade Perfect Port on the humble Megadrive.
This is not possible using the MD+ or MSU-MD drivers, because the hardware is not designed to play multiple WAV files simultaniously. Though MD+ provides a function called "playWAV" in addition to playing CD audio, it is unfortunately not usable for this purpose.Retroash wrote:This is fantastic, Thankyou. We'd need a routine for the Sub-CPU, which is able to play PCM sounds in an acceptable quality to replace SFX in games. It's not impossible, but nobody has written any sample code yet. Support from TerraOnion regarding this remains unanswered.
When playing on real hardware on a Mega Everdrive Pro, for some reason, the "Here comes a new challenger!" track doesn't play when it should. It's just silent. Tried the 3DO and X68k versions and they both have the bug.
Is this happening for anyone else?

It appears to be a bug in the patch. You can report it on infinest's GitHub.
