Anyone here know how to fix this on youtube?

So I used to upload all my preview videos without changing aspect ratio. About a year ago this caused any thumbnail I had to not show up when viewed with the YouTube app on phone, so I started uploading my videos with a 16:9 ratio for about a year now. Now recently the older videos of mine (which is about 25 videos) is no longer viewing right when on PC (but looks fine on phone). It looks like this



Does anyone know how to fix this? It is annoying enough to not have the thumbnail show up, now it is not playing correctly at all. I have looked at a few different computers and they are all doing the same thing so it is not just one pc doing it. I am hoping to fix without re-uploading 25+ videos. It's most likely a recent bug on YouTube's end. I don't even see the controls on the right hand side for resolution, playback speed etc.

Contact them, if you can find a way, and let them know.

Been trying to contact them. Apparently this has been happening for at least a week as someone commented on my video about it but i thought at the time he was talking about my thumbnail messing up for not being 16:9. I am hoping this can be fixed as reuploading so many videos with new ratio going to be annoying

It looks fine for me on this laptop in Firefox and Microsoft Edge on Windows 10. At the the top it says "Read in the Description to Learn More". Perhaps it's the browser you are using. Try a different web browser like Firefox, Opera or what ever other browser you have on hand to test this video on just in case it is the specific web browser that is the problem. Just a thought.

Well what do you know, it got fixed today. This problem was going on for videos of weird aspect ratios for a little over a week though. But I guess it is fine now. I was getting ready to reupload 25 videos in a 16:9 aspect ratio. I might still as it is a more compatible format between devices. I know this problem was still going on late last night as I was making a list of videos I need to reupload and checking which ones were wrong.

I am very relived though as a week was long enough to think Youtube was not supporting the aspect ratio anymore. I wish I made all my videos 16:9 from the beginning, I just uploaded them as is without fiddling with that (except for about a year ago where I now care about this stuff).

I am happy for you and didn't want you to suffer whatever the case which appears to be as they had said must have been the reason. My recommendation has worked for me with different streaming platforms when another web browser isn't working right at that time.
