The music in the first level of Xardion(MSU1) cuts out after 3 minutes, does anyone know why this happens and how it can be remedied?

perhaps the loop/noloop flag is being sent to the MSU1 improperly?

or the game / code is sending specific values to the MSU1 registers, intentionally or unintentionally...

i spent about 6 minutes in the first level in fast forward and did not encounter the issue. what method are you using to play this game? which emulator / flash cart?

Looping is somewhat broken on MiSTer, so it's a MiSTer problem and they've known about it for a while now. I mentoned an issue in that thread using Fatal Fury Special as an example, where a track is specified to loop in code and doesn't loop when it's played on MiSTer. Emulators and SD2SNES etc. are fine with it.
