Long hollow tree trunks that you walk though in the forest
I've always wondered this.
There are these really long and huge hollow tree trunks that you can walk though in the forest in Zelda 3, yet you never actually see a tree that would be tall enough to produce a trunk that size in length.
Maybe they chopped down all of the huge tall trees and there are no more of them left?
Maybe they still exist, but only in the mysterious regions on the map which are hidden under clouds?
Maybe the designers just thought that it would be cool to walk though huge tree trunks and realized that if they actually put them in the game they would look out of place since they are too tall?
Maybe they are actually in the forest, but you can't see them because they are out of view. Maybe this is the reason why this area has that shaded overlay which looks as if the whole forest is actually being shaded by leaves and branches of taller trees?

Was just going through the forums cleaning house and noticed this.
Very good point Erock. Perhaps they were a species of tree that went extinct due to Ganon's nefarious deeds.

Trying to decipher logic out of a Zelda game really doesn't lead anywhere. There's other logic problems like Link's ability to carry 20+ items on himself, the Cane of Somaria creating blocks, etc. I just choose to accept it as a magical fantasy world and enjoy it as is.

Maybe the regular trees actually are just as tall, you just see them from an extremely foreshortened perspective (they look rather squat after all).
