Noob questions

I'm assuming this is the right place to post this. Some help with this stuff is appreciated and I promise as I get used to the site some more I'll be able to navigate it better.

1. Where are the rules?
2. Where is the IRC information? Do we have an IRC channel?
3. How is new staff determined? Just curious: are new members elected by the admins when needed or can anyone apply?

I think that's it for now.

1. I wrote those a while back, but there were some problems among what to actually implement, so I removed them, and the new ones were never written/published. However there are some guidelines written in the register form.

3. On this forum, staff is usually selected based on what knowledge do they have on the game itself. The more you know about the game, the bigger rank you will eventually get, but there is also the active factor. Best combination is: know a lot about the game and be as active as possible (it is also adviced to at lest be able to write in fluent english).

For instance:
The usual promotion from a standard user to a Rom hacker rank is after you put out a project.

Actually the Zelda 3 syndrome already happened to me except it was Oracle of Ages syndrome. I left my project go for over a year but now I'm getting ready to return to it. I may post it here.

Ah. I think that's a staff thing. I'm a mod but there's only so much that I've had to deal with thus far. I bet Puzz or Seph would know.

Yeah, categories was the word I was looking for. Not a big loss, at least the only choice is a Zelda one.
