SimCity :: Comments
Re: SimCity
Don't worry.. And I might as well have remembered something wrong..
At first I will try to get all available msu hacks possible to run properly.
Then I will create the "wily wars" pcm packs...
And first then one could start talking about if it is possible and finding the right people
to do the same thing to megaman2 and 3, that has been done to Zelda, castlevania or metroid...
Don't think to much about it. I will definately speak up when the time arrives...
BTW.. Does anyone of you know of a "mesen-forum" like this one (like zeldix is for Zelda and msu)?

THX I will try and see what (or whom) I can find on those boards.. (didnt know that romhacking had a forum... was there alsways just for the hacks)
About SimCity: I find it funny, that the german version works best on sd2snes. The "new" english patch still gives me the glitched first screen, but works fine as soon as the first screen is skipped (MSU sound)..
Dont know how it behaves further into the game. will try that out. Will download everything for a third time on another computer and see what happens with those files..
The German version has MSU-sound and no glitches so far. Will see further into it later. I have free time this weekend. so i´ll be bingegaming on the sd2snes
(really looking forward to it, I have a 2 year old daughter so I dont get that much time to play anymore )

Use Sim City: SimCity 1 (USA) .sfc or smc without header,
CRC32: 8AEDD3A1,
rename your rom to (SimCityEnglish.sfc)
put inside the folder (cleanRom)
click on (doEnglishPatch.bat) twice,
go to the folder (patchedRom) and your corrected rom will be there,
now rename your rom again as the PCM's files and etc,
(scity-msu1 - scity-msu1.sfc - scity-msu1-1.pcm)
ready, now is to enjoy the gambling !!!
Conn wrote:@vvv18, did you test the us version on sd2snes and noticed a glitched title screen?
Sorry for the delay, I left here, ok!
For me it works 100% the USA version,
no failure anywhere!
...
Redid the whole process. this glitched intro/initial screen that appeared on the US Patch reappeared (although i downloaded and patched all files once again)
appeared again (still only on the first screen).
Dont know if thats a german FX Pak problem..
I really only have this "problem" with the US Patch on the FX PAK. Both patches work flawless on SNES9X and the German Patch works flawless on both systems so..
Just wanted to inform.
For me this topic is considered closed.

You're welcome. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do. The code is more or less as in the German version, so I have no idea what's going wrong. Also emu works and sd2snes is hard to trace... + It seems you are the only one with this Problem. Believe me, many would have complained already if they had this problem, and the majority here play the us version
Since I use the German version and this doesnt cause any glitches anyhow, there is really nothing I can complain about
SimCity restored PCM pack added. Special thanks to Pinci for the restorations and The Brickster for hosting them on their YouTube channel.
Hello everyone.
I just wanted to put this here.
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7534/
Its a fastrom hack for this game. Just wanted to bring it to attention for a possible msu merger maybe.

Could you make a music pack of it using this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUIpUJ6bzZs someone put music from the unreleased nes version of SimCity in the snes SimCity sound engine and they have link the spc files of all the tracks so this msu-1 SimCity back with the SimCity nes music would be so cool
It would be better if someone replaced the SPC tracks in the original ROM with those, but yeah, it's pretty easy to make PCM files out of those SPC's and use them with the MSU1 hack.
Well, here you go.
https://mega.nz/file/ozoAgAKL#WGZ5XBeF5QzYbR8k5TL5qWb8tpxEun9Bg8kkapgXoWo
There are only 11 tracks used. All of the "Short" versions are unused, also the "Alert". It's probably best to use the restored version as a base and then overwrite with what is available in the NES SPC versions. I haven't touched the volume, but they looked like they were fine, amplitude wise, and in the realms of something an MSU1 hack would look like.

having read the description on youtube, that's basically how they were made.. i suppose it shouldn't be too difficult..
I'm currently making my own PCM set using the PC-98 soundfont. Can somebody help me out with converting them into PCMs? I've also seem to have missed some themes in MIDI form, the most notable being Bad Evaluation.
Here's what I got so far: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UU6GORr_Ui2UMQ07mhkRqnobrdFr8cR0/view?usp=sharing
Can you send me a .json file for this game? I've got a remastered soundtrack, ready to be converted!
You need to calm down. We've told you before, if people are interested then they'll reply. If we have to keep telling you, and if you keep doing this then we'll have to do something about it.
