Re: Super Metroid Phazon
Do you mean for existing games in the database? Or for wishlist games?
For either, as long as there is a full, high quality arranged soundtrack available for a game somewhere, I'd have no problem putting something together. Obviously, if it's a wishlist game, just creating some PCM's for it is no guarantee it'll ever be patched.

Re: Super Metroid Phazon
Well, what I really meant was that the arranged soundtrack has to be from the game itself and match the original. That way the replacements can be easily identified and named appropriately. Echoes and Corruption are different games to Super Metroid, and from what I can hear none of the themes match the original Super Metroid soundtrack, so I don't know what you want to hear in any particular area.
That's not to say I can't do it, but you're going to have to tell me what to replace the original with for all 30 tracks.

Maybe you should consider learning to create pcm packs. It is not too hard and the freedom to place any music you want into any game is so much fun.

I'll be sure to remember that. Thanks for the tip!

Is there an advantage for converting mp3 to wav and then to pcm? I would love to hear if so

Re: Super Metroid Phazon
I was only pulling his leg.
It's not possible to convert MP3 to PCM using WAV2MSU. Only Ogg Vorbis, FLAC and WAV can be converted. qwerty's MSUPCM allows the conversion of MP3 to PCM with external DLL's.
Since MP3 is a lossy format, try to avoid using it as a source. You'd be wasting the lossless capability of the PCM files. MP3's should be the last resort should you be unable to find a lossless source.
As for Metroid, I have lossless sources for Prime 2 and 3. I need to find one for Prime tomorrow.

Re: Super Metroid Phazon
Oh, thanks for explanation. I have always used mp3 with qwerty tool and i have liked the result. However, i will have to give a wav file a try and see what i think.

Re: Super Metroid Phazon
Okay... I've got all but one of those tracks. I'll search for it. In the meantime, I need a save state from before the ending and credits so I can get an idea of what you want done there. I'll need to time it because I think that's all one track originally.
EDIT: I have the track now. It was the multiplayer game over. I've since converted it from the original DSP file.

Re: Super Metroid Phazon
If you have a save close to the end before the last boss is defeated, then yes please. That'd be perfect.
I noticed you said you played through it recently, so even an SRM file from that playthrough would do. Just enough to get me to the end so I can figure out what goes where.

Re: Super Metroid Phazon
Editing and looping is complete. Minor balancing left to do.
Missing one track, though...
There are two of these in the original MSU hack. One inside without the thunder and rain sound effects, and one outside with those effects. That's the one we're missing. Track 6. It's basically the track when Samus comes out of her ship at the start after arriving on the planet.
This is the track used in the original MSU soundtrack:

I don't know where it occurs, if ever, in the Phazon hack. So if you want you can find another track to use that would fit, if you know where it's triggered.
Continue isn't used. It's SPC.

Okay, try these.

I used your suggestion for track 6, and I've included the two alternatives also.

Re: Super Metroid Phazon
No problem, happy to help.
I'll re-host the pack without the "alt" tracks seeing as they're for another patch, and I'll add the link to the first post of the Phazon release.
Yes, I'm on YouTube.

Re: Super Metroid Phazon
If you can send me an input recording with SNES9x I'll gladly make a video out of it. I just don't have the time to play it, myself.
Backup your original SRM file in your saves folder, then "Movie Record" option, and check "Record From Reset" and "Clear SRAM".
