I specifically chose to use the .mp3's in my release because those were the ones available for free download, while the FLAC release was only available for purchase. I'm not sure how I feel about distributing the FLAC-based PCM's even now that it's no longer available for purchase. The same goes for the Chrono Trigger albums. Can you point out any specific issues you had with the ones I posted? It's possible that the issue might have been caused by the conversion process and not the source files themselves.

Weird sound track but it sounds good, you should work more on the treble and bass for it.
It needs a good tune up before you release it.

Well if you can find the whole super metroid sound tracks in sega genesis in mp3 format.
I will be willing to do the half conversion part of it, the rest someone else could easily pick up on.
I'm gonna be pretty honest but sega genesis fm1 styled metroid music doesn't sound like a good idea.
In that video around 8:08 it sounds konami like which is pretty weird but real good.

It's the same guy that did the Mega Man X soundtrack I used for that game, but his Metroid soundtrack isn't on his new channel, nor are the VGM's. I'd say he only did those few tracks and didn't finish it.

On my research for my favorite pcm's for SuperMetroid i found this incomplete but very nice one. It's the work of Luminist (Luminist | Super Metroid: Resynthesized), who did some more tracks than the person who posted this video linked in his description:


What i do like about it is the calm but threatening character..

@ToAll Updated ProjectXVIII's Retroid hack to make it compatible with DarkShock's MSU-1 patch. The patch and PCM sets are posted up top. ProjectXVIII's patch pretty much makes Super Metroid into Metroid.

@AndehX Listened and enjoyed this fanmade OST too. I am currently working on converting it to MSU-1 format. I finished 10 out of 30. Eventually, I will get them all done. Thank you for suggesting dj@tomnium's music.

Update: Finished and posted the DJ @tomnium PCM pack on 11/11/19. Since there was no Samus Death jingle on this set, I took the one from Blake's OST.

Oh, looking in the thread it was released last june and I missed the message. I am DEFINITELY going to make a PCM pack for Retroid because I absolutely love the NES music of Metroid. In fact I actually have 2 already done, I experimented once if the NES music would sound good in Super Metroid and I figured out it does not, just does not fit the atmosphere. But this is perfect, I hope to find some free time soon.

@JUD6MENT Uh, just a heads up, I already made a Zero Mission and NES PCM Pack when I released this MSU-1 patch a while back (they are listed just below the patch link). Just mentioning it so the wheel does not get re-invented, unless you want to do this. If you have better lossless samples to work with, then by all means, go for it. I will replace the ones I did for yours.
