Rock n' Roll Racing (Mode 1)
PATCH:
MODE 1 PATCH (by "Ti" - Compatible with both the MegaSD and the Mega Everdrive Pro)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mode 1 patch (Made by "Ti" and modified by "Retroplay" - Everdrive and Mega SD compatible)
This version of the patch must be applied to the rom with this name and checksums:
Audio pack for use with this patch: Original 6 track audio pack (by "Retroplay")
darthvaderx alternative audio pack: https://mega.nz/file/SB10TQbI#YAKsmz2G24u2rPkAeoFwXJwuKpFJHhkIfYH2lraDstE (see this link for track listing)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AUDIO PACKS:
For MSU-MD and MD+ supported flash carts:
REAL TRACKS + SOME ADDITIONS (EverDrivePro and MegaSD Compatible) (BY "PEPODMC")
FOR EMULATORS:
REAL TRACKS OF THE GAME + SOME ADDITIONS (For Genesis Plus GX) (by "Pepodmc")
This music pack has tracks in "OGG" format made for use in the "Genesis Plus GX" retroarch core. That core, sometimes, has some problems if the tracks are in "WAV" format. But with tracks in "OGG" format it works OK, plus less size of the music packs.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTRUCTIONS TO USE IN GENESIS PLUS GX (RETROARCH):
For the moment, use the "Genesis plus GX" i put in the thread, because the Core available in Retroarch to download its behind the last source changes, that enable to use all the msu-md patches. Rock & Roll racing is not one of the MSU-MD patched games, it uses an older type of Mode 1 hack, but its better to use this "Genesis Plus GX" from now on.
Put the core in this thread inside "cores" folder.
Then download the Sega CD bios (US,EU,JP) and put them in "System" folder.
The name of each files is:
"bios_CD_E"
"bios_CD_U"
"bios_CD_J"
And then, check in Retroarch if the files are the ones you need.
Open the emulator, in "load core" , select "Genesis Plus GX" , go back, enter in "information", then enter in "core information" and check this:
If one of those three says "missing", its because the name of your bios files its wrong or its not the file you need, and will had to download from somewhere else. Without these files, the new tracks will not load. (depending of the region of the game)
And last, your rom must have the same name as the CUE file of the music pack. Change the file extension of your ROM from ".bin" to ".md". Always open the game from the ROM file of the game, not from the CUE.

How can i convert wavs into cue+iso with isobuster? i tried with no luck
File->Open Image File - Select the cue sheet from cue/wav pack.
and then right click on CD, like this
Then save as RAW (*.bin, *.iso).
Selecting bin or iso doesn't matter, both will work fine.
You can also use chdman from MAME.
First, convert cue/wav to chd
chdman createcd -i "whoopie-doo.cue" -o "whoopie-doo.chd"
Then extract chd to bin/cue
chdman extractcd -i "whoopie-doo.chd" -o "whoopie-doo.cue"
and then right click on CD, like this

Keep in mind this hack is neither an MD+ nor MSU-MD hack, it's a "generic" Mode 1 Sega CD hack.
That goes for Top Gear 2 by Ti as well.
This is from the guy who made the "toejam and Earl" patch:
"MSU-MD doesnt support loop., because actual mode 1 as implemented on Sega CD & on Mega Everdrive Pro doesn't support it. Only MD+ on the Mega SG supports this. Full track looping only"

So for emulators users, will be necessary to gain mega sd support in emulators even if MSU-MD its already supported.
Or we will have to have separate music packs, because the Mega SD music packs will have loops that MSU-MD users will not be able to use.
For example. i was doing a music pack for the Sonic 1 mode 1 hack, and making 6 minutes loops for each stage (plus the other tracks of the game), the size is 573mb (iso+cue)
Or making all with ogg so the space will not be a problem.
I made a alternative version with 12 songs to be used in MSU-MD mode (Genesis Plus GX and Kega Fusion, the latter can be converted to mp3).
Tracklist:
Rock n' Roll Racing Mode 1 Tracks (12).7z
Tracklist:
01-Bad to the Bone (by Thorogood)
02-Paranoid (by Black Sabbath)
03-Highway Star (by Deep Purple)
04-Peter Gunn (by Henry Mancini)
05-Born to be Wild (by Steppenwolf)
06-Radar Love (by Golden Earring)
07-Kickstart my Heart (by Mötley Crüe)
08-Be Quick Or Be Dead (by Iron Maiden)
09-Smoke On The Water (by Deep Purple)
10-Cowboys From Hell (by Pantera)
11-Nine Lives (by Aerosmith)
12-Back In Black (by AC/DC)
Rock n' Roll Racing Mode 1 Tracks (12).7z
Interesting, in the case of MSU-MD, I added three songs from my set that were not in the 97 tracks pack, however when I edited the .cue file it was not recognized by Kega Fusion (only the effects were heard), so for this a maximum of 97 tracks are recognized. (I don't know anything about Genesis Plus GX and flashcards.)

Anybody got this to work on Mega Everdrive Pro? I tried and didn't have any luck yet.
Is the game running without the soundtrack or does it even start? In case it's just the tracks, I don't know if the Mega Everdrive Pro has support for Sega CD mode-1.

I thought the MSU-MD format was based in Mode 1 but I could be wrong. In the case of this one the rom is just black when I start. All the other ones boot up and work fine just having issues with the 97 track one right now.

So I only left 31 tracks in the cue sheet to test it our and if I do that I can get the rom to work. Sounds like a track limit thing for the cue sheet might be the issue. Will try adding them back in to see if I can determine the line.
So I got it to work with 44 tracks on my Mega Everdrive Pro, but then I take those exact same files on an identical SD card on the same Mega Everdrive Pro and I get the endless loop of the first song. Not sure what's going on

I'm going to take advantage of this discussion around RRR and I would like to know one thing: Is there a patch that only has the possibility of reading soundtracks in Mode 1? That is, without the Ti modifications?
