Notes
This patch is pretty functional, but not everything in this game has been tested.
If you do find a bug, feel free to let me know in the thread or via the issues tab in the source repository linked below.
This is a Super Game Boy patch, compatible with both BSNES and FXPak (SD2SNES). Some assembly may be required (see README.md)
Patch folder contains patches for English (UE) and French versions, each for both Red and Blue. Use the appropriate patches.
Use a bulk rename tool to match the PCM file names to the SFC. For Windows, Bulk Rename Utility or Ant Renamer might do. On Linux, the Thunar file manager comes built-in with a bulk rename utility.

I created Rename Generator for Pokemon Blue PCM Packs.

Nice, I added your creator into first post and also credited you for the pcm set (I think I read you initially made the pcm).
What is the theme of the existing pcm pack? Is it lets go or fire red or something else?
I can't get this to work with ANY version of BSNES. I just get a black screen. Ever step was followed and it was patched correctly.
You need Super Game Boy bios, do you have that in game folder ?
Rename SGB bios to name of game.
E.g:
Pokemon - Red Version.sfc
Pokemon - Red Version.gb
BSNES v115
1. Load Game, select SGB bios (sfc file)
2. Load gb/gbc file, profit.
- Code:
Name: Super Game Boy (World) (Rev 2).sfc
Size: 262144
CRC32: 8a4a174f
MD5: b15ddb15721c657d82c5bab6db982ee9

Try to get FFA work:

I added a step-by-step tutorial. Then you have a feeling what you need and how to set it up... maybe

THIS is what it was. I was using the BIOS rom renamed when I should’ve looked for this instead. It’s working now!
I figured the BIOS file I had was way too small as it was only 1K. The correct one is 256K.
@ABOhiccups Are you still working on the Let's Go Switch Only PCM pack? I personally think the Anime PCM pack is best suited for Yellow since that's sort of an adaptation for the Anime, while I would prefer to play Red and Blue with actual video game music like the Switch and GBA versions. Bearing that in mind, any plans for a GBA Fire Red/Leaf Green PCM pack?
Zumi is currently working on PCM Pack now. He's the one you should talk to.SuperFeistyFox wrote:@ABOhiccups Are you still working on the Let's Go Switch Only PCM pack? Okay. @Zumi, how goes the progress on the other PCM packs for Pokemon Generation 1?
I have all the music found for my own pack, put it is not a theme. It is just best individual tracks i can find. I will make my red and blue pack when i am done with my silver gold one

Ok, I updated the first page to include my new PCM set for Red and Blue version. I tried to make my inclusion to look like the rest of Zumi's post set up but feel free to edit things as you wish Zumi.

I do not think there is unless something new that makes it compatible came out recently that I do not know about. Only a few emulators can do gb msu-1 through super gameboy. Even then, it is not as smooth running the game as it is for of SNES msu-1 titles.
Sorry but do you think these pokémon msu1 patches can be compatible with rom hacks like emu edition or pure red?
Jorge2222 wrote:Sorry but do you think these pokémon msu1 patches can be compatible with rom hacks like emu edition or pure red?
I highly doubt it. In all honesty, there is probably some game breaking bugs that havent been discovered yet by just playing the original red version. When i test ran silver, no lie, every 1-3 hour play sessions during the test run i found a small list of problems that i was reporting to zumi. I can not imagine it will combine well with other rom hacks, but you can try.

JUD6MENT wrote:I highly doubt it. ...
Seconded, unfortunately—unlike the Gold/Silver one—this patch was built directly off of the Pokemon Red/Blue disassembly (which explains why the patch file is so big). A lot of data has been shifted, as a result it wouldn't have been compatible with other hacks.
AFAIK PureRed is a disassembly hack, so patching it as-is with the bps file would likely be incompatible anyway. Though it is open source, so you could theoretically try to apply in the changes from this patch's source code—but that means you've effectively created a brand new patch specifically for PureRed...
And as for updating, I don't exactly see a reason to look at it again unless a major bug has been discovered. Life's happening these days and interest has shifted away somewhat from here.
GizmoTheGreen wrote:anyone got this working with gen2 sprite patch?
nope. not compatible with gen2 sprite hack/patch - it will freeze/hang
only compatible with original blue/red games
Jorge2222 wrote:Sorry but do you think these pokémon msu1 patches can be compatible with rom hacks like emu edition or pure red?
definitely not pure red - uses different rom & ram addresses than original red game. i know 'cuz I'm currently playing the latest version of it; the msu1 patches will mess it up bigtime.
for other rom hacks, ask/contact those creators about them.
Jorge2222 wrote:How to know which msu1 patch was built from disassembly and which was not
why do you want to know? is there a good reason
Because the msu1 SNES patches worked with all the rom hacks and the SGB MSU1 and MD+ patches didn't work with any of them.
