Happy early new year! As SNES DOOM takes place in the year 2022 (mentioned in the manual), it's about time we got an MSU-1 patch for it!
Thanks to lots of help from Conn, I've developed a patch that works well in the game... as far as I can get in it, anyways.
Please post any bugs you run into during a playthrough.

DOOM :: Comments
Also congrats from my side. I moved it into this section (not that I think it is simulation, strategy/Sport, but we have Wolfenstein here as well and this game is similar )
Oh, for a minute I thought I posted it in the wrong section by mistake (though i suppose that I did)
I wouldn't say that I am getting particularly better at MSU-1, this game just has the source code released so I could cheat a lot and do all my research in an hour!
It's nice to do a game that more people will find exciting, though.maybe people will make more PCM packs for this one!

I usually despise metal versions of video game soundtracks and wouldn't normally go near them, but DOOM is suited to them and this recording was produced at a much higher standard than most.
Oh, I'm not disparaging the work already done on the PCM pack. I happen to like it a lot.. it's just I see multiple options for some of the really popular MSU-1 hacks and I get a bit jealous
On the subject of additional audio packs and for those that like the original MIDI music I have finished a Roland SC-55 version and it's added to the first post.
Updated with a pause screen fix by Conn on 2021-12-30.
Also: Thank you so much Relikk. It might seem silly but just having more than one music pack makes me feel like a pro. It means a lot to me!

Thanks for the awesome msu-1 version of this. I wonder what SNES Doom would sound like with a PSX or 3D0 audio pack?

Here's a video I made showing the IDKFA pack in action
You're welcomeCubear wrote:Perfect! thank you for making this. I'll put it into the first post.
I've added Cacodemontube's all episodes on any difficulty patch to the existing MSU-1 patch if anyone wants it.

Very nice. I think there's also a QoL patch floating around for SNES doom to allow for strafing and turning at the same time... worth checking out.

Here is the page of it:

I've made a music pack using the Playstation (PSX) soundtrack. I used Club Doom for the last level Dis where you fight the Spider Mastermind. Many people like the original PC soundtrack for Doom (it's great) but the Playstation/Saturn soundtrack was different for its ambient horror atmosphere which is actually the one I prefer out of the two.

merge the "Cacodemontube's all episodes on any difficulty" patch merged with MSU-1 by Mike Prince Sharpe with Circle strafing patch by xttl (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5272/) and correct the cheksum at the same time using IpsAndSum (https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/499/).
Seems to works fine, need a second testing to confirm.
Now we just need the Super FX support by Cacodemontube (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/7098/)

Why? It's slower than the original game that ran with a Super FX 2.

Sorry didn't know that ! Thanks
I moved the all difficulties merged patch here:
https://www.zeldix.net/t2537-doom-all-difficculties-with-any-episode-msu1-merged#42012
It's just, there exists so many merged patches that the original posts become a complete mess if all patches are merged with all patches out there.

I've made another music pack, this time using the 3D0 soundtrack. This OST used many tracks from the PC original soundtrack but in CD quality. Levels that didn't have a track from the 3D0 I've just substituted in with the original PC tracks from the Original Roland SC-55 MIDI music pack by Relikk.

I've added the music via msu to these levels that Cacodemontube ported to SNES Doom, e4m8, Go2It from Final Doom and the first level from Sigil. The patches just need to be applied to the US version of Doom.
