Nested MSU-1 requests
As per the Nested compatibility sheet these games fully work (music issues would be a non issue with an MSU-1 hack) and could benefit. I can create a pcm pack for any of these if a hack is done:
Gradius:
Arcade OST, various arrangements
Very close to working well, sound effects are not working right.
Faxanadu
Gargoyle's Quest II
Iron Tank
Solstice
Star Soldier
Blades of Steel

Re: Nested MSU-1 requests
Journey to Silius has some annoying graphical issues. That pretty much stopped me from making a MSU-1 patch for it. Contra was tolerable (so I did it).
I would have to see the other games. But don't hold me to that. I prefer Mesen HD more since it is easier to enhance the graphics for pixel artists.
Either way. Good luck and hope someone will tackle this list for you.

Re: Nested MSU-1 requests
I've removed Journey to Silius from the list. If there are any others that are problematic with v1.8 I can do the same.
I'm going to try and give Mr. Gimmick a thorough test/playthrough myself start to end as that is one of the best games on the system and has several great AST options.
I just am currently trying to figure out how to properly build the ROMs like the testers posting in the compatibility sheet are specifying, nothing seems to work properly.

Re: Nested MSU-1 requests
@Arasoi Aye, Gimmick is a lovely NES game. It is a shame that the arcade version is not emulated yet.

Updated main post, as I've sorted out getting Nested conversions working.

Re: Nested MSU-1 requests
Here is a full playthrough of the Nested 1.8 conversion of Gradius for NES, it runs more or less flawlessly (the slowdown in the stage with the bulb/arm enemies is in the original game)
I think this would be a good candidate for MSU-1. It will likely be similar to Salamander in how it is done, and there are many possibilities for pcm packs. Arcade, MSX SCC covers, full arrangements, etc.
If anyone is interested in working on a MSU-1 hack for this one Relikk and I are ready to make some nice pcm packs for it. I can help test anything as well.

Re: Nested MSU-1 requests
looking at the wish list, I tried Faxanadu and it didn't run well enough. It seems fine at first until you get a screen with 3 enemies or 2 large enemies and the game becomes like half speed.
Cubear and I are considering doing a Mesen HD pack of the game though which would end up basically being the same thing. But it is just in the talks stage right now and other games are being considered over it. Though I do hope to eventually do faxanadu. I found this awesome song a week ago.

I support VG Music Revisited on Patreon because of how great his work is. FYI: he currently has 12 Faxanadu songs. Out of curiosity, is Blaster Master on your list?

His Youtube channel only has 2 uploaded. Does he have more songs uploaded that are not on youtube?

Re: Nested MSU-1 requests
tok1440 on discord was kind enough to check into some of the addresses for coding MSU-1 for Nested Gradius.
In addition to this information, they have stated:
If anyone would be interested in taking this information to create an MSU-1 patch for the game, I could easily create multiple packs to utilize it. As a reminder Gradius is a Nested conversion that runs flawlessly from beginning to end as demonstrated here:
In addition to this information, they have stated:
- Code:
For Gradius Arrangement Chronicle Death, at PRG $1EC5F the instruction that plays music is ...
STA $DF <-- writing $3C here will mute the music intended to play.
The same instruction for stock Gradius Japan is located at PRG $6C5F.
so say, the track Beginning is to play ... the track-id is 13. You would play enhanced audio then mute NSF by loading A with $3C to mute NSF

Re: Nested MSU-1 requests
Update:
Going through all the games that werent MSU-1 hacked in the Nested compatibility list that were promising, I could only find one that worked well enough to where I think a patch would be worth someone's time, Gradius.
All others had various sound effects, speed, or other issues that made things not worth it IMO.
