The Bowser Fight 1 is exactly the same as Bowser Fight 2, believe me. So I just copy-paste ;D

Also, I took a few other SFX tracks from Kiddo's music pack and fixed them by removing digital silence and adjusting the length.

You know... I'd add Mario voices to some tracks, but I remembered Luigi is in game too xD

There's one small bug in the msu of secret of mana I just noticed:

at e.g, 47:55 the track is Looping 3 times; I think this can be avoided with $2007-01
Dunno whether there are other tracks which should not Loop

I think this code must be addressed:

I didn't check which track wasn't looping because in GinBunBun they were all looping tracks. Now that Colines added missing jingle, I should do that subroutine next time I look into it.

Conn, no be hurry for your projects at all it must be done with time and the fun does not make competition.

For F-Zero, I  search the music how you find that of damdam for F-Zero X this can giving a good record on F-Zero SNES no?

Sorry about the delay of my reply, life is a bit hectic these days.

But I got good news, I repacked your music pack into a single 7z file because I find Download All of OneDrive not reliable at all, I had to download each pcm individually.

Also, the 1.0 version of the ROM hack has been submitted to romhacking.net, link coming as soon it is up Smile

WOW - this is excellent news!

I signed up to thank everyone involved in this. I've been looking to play through this again and this is just the excuse I needed.

Do you know if this is compatible with the Variable Width Font patch and the Proper-Caser patch also on Rom Hacking Net? I believe the Variable Width Font patch changes the rom size so not sure it that would mess things up.

If the MSU patch is compatible do you recommend a particular order when applying the patches?

I reply on this in general... usually we release patches that work with the native rom. We cannot assure compatibility with other work. Every rom has unused space, which can be used for custom hacks. Of course it happens quite often that two hacks maintain the same free space, making the game crash in the end. Please do NOT ask us whether one hack is compatible with another (our lifes are busy enough - we will not have time to test which so ever hack by which so ever author for compatibility). Just try that yourself. If the game won't boot or crash it obviously isn't.

If the hacks come with a documentation (like DS made) you can also check whether the same free space is used.

This means, DS used snes hirom cb3400 which is (lunar address) pc: 0b3400 (if you open the rom in a hex editor you will find a lot of FF there). If the other hacks use the same free space, they are incompatible.

One way to avoid this problem is to expand the rom (like your Variable Width Font author obviously did) - then the chances for collision on the same space are smaller.

One further warning: DS hack is for non-headered version while Variable Width Font is for headered rom. You need to add/remove the header prior to applying one of both hacks!

Hi Conn,

Thank you very much for the tips, I did manage to get all three patches working in combination. If anyone is interested here is what I did:

1. Applied a header to a original NTSC rom.
2. Applied the Variable Width Font patch (rom expanded to 3MB).
3. Applied the Proper-caser patch.
4. Removed the header.
5. Applied DarkShock's MSU1 patch.

Tested and working in BSNES 0.70 - I haven't tested against anything else.

Thanks again Conn my original problem was I didn't remove the header before applying Darkshock's patch!

does he play on sd2snes? If yes, here's what he's doing wrong (smw related with switch palace):

Important note:
Problems with saving is a known issue with MSU-1 enhanced games on the SD2SNES.The game saves only with this technique your progress: In order to save permanently, you'll need to save after castle, switch..., and then either press L+R+Select+X or press and hold the reset button on your console long enough so that it resets to the SD2SNES main menu.

Sounds nice though I think it's a bit loud compared to the sfx. Even the emulator patch was applied
I think this is a global volume problem of the pcm:s. For ALTTP the best values were FF for sd2snes, 60 for bsnes. Also in SMW, the overworld is too silent and the level too loud when playing on emulator. I hope Colines will update/fix this.

For the volume issue, byuu is aware of it, there's a thread on his forum about it but no proper solution has been found yet.

For simple games it's very simple to create a "emulator" patch with volume reduced but for Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger, the game sets specific volumes and do fade in/out with specific timing, this it's much more complicated.
