Mega Man X3 MSU1 O.O
Holy crap its awesome I don't know if anyone else knows but Mlarouche who did the Mega Man X and Rock and Roll Racing msu1 hacks did one for Mega Man X3!
https://github.com/mlarouche/MegamanX3-MSU1
That's the link to it if you guys wanna check it out. I just compiled it and it sounds awesome. It uses the music from the ps1 version but edited to loop and so on. It's wicked cool.

Re: Mega Man X3 MSU1 O.O
I used to play guitar, but got out of it after an extended period of not playing. Seeing this mod (and the dearth of good metal remixes for the soundtrack), I just ordered a Schecter C-7 Hellraiser FR guitar SPECIFICALLY for recording the guitar tracks for this. It may take some time to get the tracks out, since I'm moving on the 25th-26th of March, but I will completely Metal-ize the soundtracks.
That's a promise. DarkShock did something I've been having dreams over since I first heard of MSU-1, so stay tuned.
EDIT: Also, mods - be sure to give DarkShock a Programmer/Hacker title!

Done. I guess he will now have to get used to the green coloured name.EDIT: Also, mods - be sure to give DarkShock a Programmer/Hacker title!
Also, your upper post was accidently reduced to the EDIT part of the message.
It was just a press of a wrong button ("edit" last post, rather than "reply" to last post).Most of the post was (accidentally?) deleted by a mod..? Not sure why. Removed all possible 'offensive' content, just to be sure.)
By the way: good to see that after the MSU-1 for Alttp other games are being worked on to be able to produce the CD quality sound.

Okay, I'm in my new place. Still have to set up my recording equipment, as well as wait for my new bass guitar to come, but I should be up and recording sometime soon.

Re: Mega Man X3 MSU1 O.O
Hey guys, a couple weeks ago I finished to compile a new and appropriate music pack, appropriate I mean full of rock n' roll.
Don't get me wrong, I kinda even like the PSX version, but the orchestrated themed soundtrack doesn't fit well (my opinion) in the game's atmosphere. Having the Retromancer's music pack for MMX in mind, I tried to match the MMX3 music to the same standard.
Like I said above, I compiled the pack weeks ago. The reason I haven't released it before is because I didn't find a remix for some tracks, so I spent the last few weeks looking for them... And I didn't find any!!!
I gave up and decided to take the missed tracks from GinBunBun's pack anyway.
There isn't too many decent remixes (or there isn't too many remixes at all...) for the MMX3 soundtrack, you can imagine how difficult it was to choose them for each track. Some tracks don't even have rock themed remixes, so the result is a tiny mixed music pack.
http://1drv.ms/1FDSrBm
I'm ok with any suggestions! If you know a better rock remix for track-x, please do tell me!

Pretty sury you didn't copy the manifest.bml into the right folder.
Copy it to %USERPROFILE%\Emulation\Super Famicom\mmx3_msu1.sfc\

Pas mal sûr que tu n'as pas copié le fichier manifest.bml dans le bon dossier. Il faut le copier dans %USERPROFILE%\Emulation\Super Famicom\mmx3_msu1.sfc\

Good work on that music pack, I replay the game last week with that pack and it felt right, even with the leftovers from the Saturn/PS1 version.

Thanks, glad you liked it. =)
I'm still tracking down on youtube for more remixes, I'm hopeful I will find a proper remix for each track

Re: Mega Man X3 MSU1 O.O
Finally found out the correct manifest for running the hack in bsnes, had to read the bsnes source code to find it out.
- Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<cartridge region="NTSC">
<rom>
<map mode="linear" address="00-7f:8000-ffff"/>
<map mode="linear" address="80-ff:8000-ffff"/>
</rom>
<cx4>
<map address="00-3f:6000-7fff"/>
<map address="80-bf:6000-7fff"/>
</cx4>
<msu1>
<map address="00-3f:2000-2007"/>
<map address="80-bf:2000-2007"/>
<mmio>
<map address="00-3f:2000-2007"/>
<map address="80-bf:2000-2007"/>
</mmio>
</msu1>
</cartridge>

Hey I found the solution for a real guitar rock/metal soundtrack. I verified it working in Higan.
I uploaded it here. http://theisozone.com/downloads/other-consoles/snes/mega-man-x3---rock-version---msu-1-real-guitar-covers-2/

Okay I uploaded it all ready to go for the SD2SNES. Here it is: http://www.epforums.org/showthread.php?104120-Nintendo-SNES-Mod-Mega-Man-X3-Zero-Project-MSU-1-Rock-Version-%28real-guitar-covers%29&p=1849935#post1849935
Hey DarkShock, which emulator version did you test it on? Thanks!

Re: Mega Man X3 MSU1 O.O
cool first time I hear from this debugger, need to test it. I am glad that somebody advances bsnes. Do you by chance have contact with the developer? I desperately would like to see the error bit spc fallback in bsnes v70...
Is there a reason you play with bsnes v.73? I think v.70 was the last version which was most compatible (plays pcm, xml, smc, sfc, header...). I think v73 has added a feature that made it more difficult to use, but cannot recall which feature it was.
Anyways, I would be more than happy if the spc fallback can be added to v.70. Do you see any chance that this can happen?
- Code:
LDA $2000
AND #$08 ; check error bit for spc fallback (only featured bsnes 0.8 and higher as well as sdnes)
BNE playspc

Re: Mega Man X3 MSU1 O.O
Don't get fooled by the version number of bsnes-plus, it does include the track missing bit ! It doesn't have resume support yet, someone needs to submit a pull request to them with that feature.
