Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers :: Comments
Re: Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers
Yes, as @Relikk mentionned, this is another patch.Cubear wrote:perhaps i was working off the wrong patch. i was using this one: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2735/
if there's any other source on this i'd be happy to convert it as well
I also looked for the ips but no chance, i don't think Proteus posted it anywhere.
I tried to contact him on twitter few days ago but nothing for now.
On his youtube channel i found this video with 2 links of patched roms, with and without MSU-1 versions, i don't know if it could help :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wufp5Daj9K8
PS1: this video shows how accurate the conversion is, it's a very good job.

Oh, well I made an ips out of the patched rom.
It doesn't apply directly to (U) unsurprisingly, but with a bit of effort it should be portable even to somebody that doesnt know ASM
I'll plug away at this slowly (already have moved all the palette data over, and the game continues working)
It's just a matter of time until I get the rest ported over.

My apologies for the double post. I believe I've converted the patch nearly fully.
I've left the intro screens intact (I find inserting your name into a game to be somewhat tacky)
I have also reverted what I consider to be a palette error on the title screen "The New Challengers" text.
Here's the merged patch.

This is perfect Cubear, i don't know how to thank you, the version can't be better now.Cubear wrote:...
Fast and effective, thanks again for your efforts friend

The BPS patch in that archive only applies on the Japanese ROM (CRC-32: 26CA246B), and even then it doesn't boot.
while I may not disagree, the palettes were not designed by me.
the palette data copied properly, and your screenshot looks the same as it does in the example video posted.
@Relikk that's strange. I'll create a different one properly soon, then

Here is the final version of Proteus' arcade patch combined with the MSU-1 patch that Cubear converted to NTSC and fixes the music bug on MSU-1. For use on a headerless USA rom.
