IMPORTANT SIDENOTE: DKC MSU1 and DKC MSU-1 Deluxe are two different and separate patches. It will not work right to use the original DKC MSU-1 Patch with the Deluxe PCM set and vice versa. Here is a quick link to DKC MSU-1 Deluxe

I think the DKC Jazz by pittstone has been removed. Either that or the links doesn't work for me
Of Corse, The link from text has a double "h" in "https".
But if you click the Picture, the link send you to the google Drive, too.

Has anyone else tested this on an SD2SNES? I seem to have run into an issue were the music is playing properly but the game doesn't respond to button input and I can't get past the intro. Same problem presents itself with the DKC2,3, Aladdin, and SOE msu1 patches. Its odd because they play properly on my BSNES emulator.
Strange, there are many people here owning a sd2snes and plenty played DKC1,2,3. Also I know for sure that SOE was playtested on sd2snes, the problem is at your side I guess.
Try maybe sd2snes config whether you set the buttons, check roms without msu, whether they respond to button press... no better advice I can give at the moment.
Can somebody verify playtested any of these games on sd2snes?

I don't doubt that it could be on my end. It's weird because I haven't ran into any other issue with patches on this site. When I had issues they had always showed themselves on the BSNES first.
Edit: I forgot that in Aladdin's case it does play but with no audio so as not to lump it in with the other games.

I don't own a sd2snes, but I'm sure that on such high rated games like DKC, some people tried with sd2snes. At least I am 100% sure this issue were reported earlier. DKC2 wasn't made by me and exists since years already, and I never heard about troubles with sd2snes. But let's see if somebody can verify your problems
Unfortunately I do not own a sd2snes, but Colines and Relikk and many others do.

Yeah I'm hoping someone else ran into the same issue at least once and knows what I've managed to screw up.
Ok, I can get a sfc rom to play audio and behave properly in BSNES but if I try to rename a smc rom (the example given in the enclosed patch document) the audio doesn't load and only the sfx play. I know with a bps patch you are able to actually change the suffix to sfc but the ips patch has the rom read rom.sfc.smc in BSNES. Suggestions? Also I intend to place both in the folder and play test them each again tonight on my SD2SNES.
You see. The spc mute is hardcoded to be able to play msu in DKC. Means if you load the rom and no spc (but sfx) is played, all is correctly patched, no need to rename the rom to sfc.
If you have the pcm, these are played instead, what is the case in your setup, right? You only have the problem that button press is not taken.
So I can only suggest to wait whether other people also have your problems.

Okay after taking off the tacked on .sfc from the .smc rom it now plays with msu1 audio...on BSNES. I'm going to test it tonight and see if perhaps I got a slew of bad rom files or what.
Yes, both the original sfc style and the newer attempt with an smc both unheadered
If it works out on your sd2snes Relikk (thanks for testing in advance), can you maybe post a screenshot of your flash card folder to see how you called your files?
Reading stuff like "rom.sfc.smc " makes me think that it is either a header (ok, no header problem) or a naming problem.

Works fine for me. Button presses work, can get past the title screen to start a game, music plays. Using the US Rev. 1.2 ROM and relevant patch.

I will have a better understanding as soon as I get home. The sfc.smc was definately a naming issue and like I mentioned when I removed the .sfc portion of the file name the BSNES did recognize and play the file with msu1 audio. So now it all comes down to a test of the SD2SNES. This would be the first time loading an sfc rom did not work for me though which I found odd.
Thanks relikk. To summarize: nobody ever reported sd2snes incompatibility and also relikk's new test confirms that the problem apparently is on your side. I hope you can get it work, but there's nothing I can do for you ( I don't have a sd2snes, and my code seem to work)... much luck!
I more than appreciate the time you spent in hearing me out. Hopefully, I'll have better luck getting it to work now
Ok gents, the issue wasn't the SD2SNES, the rom, or the patch! It seems the current firmware for the SD2SNES isn't 100 percent compatible with the 8bitdo wireless controller/receiver. So in the few gamez I detailed it locks out your inputs unless you use a wired controller.
