IMPORTANT SIDENOTE: DKC MSU1 and DKC MSU-1 Deluxe are two different and separate patches. It will not work right to use the original DKC MSU-1 Patch with the Deluxe PCM set and vice versa. Here is a quick link to DKC MSU-1 Deluxe

Re: Donkey Kong Country
Wow, What happened here? xD
I never noticed any problem with this hack :O
The SFX were played too fast, you can test it with the oldSFX patch (also part of the new patch folder). Patch 2 roms, one with the new and one with the old and compare the sfx when diddy knocks against the barrel, rescue him, and you do nothing and donkey punches against his breast. In direct comparison you surely notice the difference. If you have good ears, there's also a difference when collecting bananas.
Below, is a video example of what Conn mentioned earlier about the old patch playing FX too fast. I placed both old and new patch side by side in the video below to illustrate.
Video Example (Left FastFX, Right SlowFX)
Conn took it out of the ballpark this time. It is very close to the SPC version (at least, to my ears).

It is funny it is a real noticeable difference yet I never noticed it before. That is a cool fix, thanks guys!
Small, really pedantic update... I was uncertain that my mute value 00 is correct (I found the original value is 01), which may result in a delay. I asked Pev if he hears one (I myself do not have the ears to notice such stuff), and in myth busters manners he found one:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ghdiu0h5qd0rxsz/DKC%20Rom00%20vs%20Rom01.mp4?dl=0
Overlapping both values results in an echo, means there is indeed some femtoseconds difference.
You can download the corrected value 01 in patch v3 in first post (all who tested v2 are advised to clear browser history)

@Conn Check your email. I went ahead and recorded sample FXs from SPC, SlowFX v1 patch, and FastFX. You will be surprised. Also included the recordings in Audacity format. Sorry, in the email I had said WaveLab but I meant to say Audacity (that is freeware, where WaveLab is not, lol).
Audacity Waveforms Compared:
Audacity Samples Taken (Spc Versus SlowFX-Fix Versus FastFX): LINK
UPDATE: I went ahead and checked your ROM00 and ROM01. Check your e-mail on my findings, but definetly, ROM01 is a bit slower than ROM00. ROM00 de-syncs a little after (this is after having both perfectly aligned at the beginning). I can definitely here that echo (barely noticeable but, it is there). But using either v1 or v2 fix is fine. I would not sweat it too much, it is minuscule.

I totally concur with this decision. Using the wave forms served its purpose well.Conn wrote:So I changed the value back to 00 Woot!! (v4 in first post is the old v2 patch)
Awesome Thanks for your assistance and ideas here, Pev, now I consider this patch as completely finished
Hopefully NoNameSD gives a comment soon whether he will finish his Sam Miller pcm set with the new tracks

Sam Miller went through and did a final polishing pass on all of the DKC1 tracks this past week, so I've updated that pack with his finalized restoration tracks. Download link here:
Edit: I've updated the top post with the finalized link, as well as updating the Mercurial Magic pack with the v4 fixed SFX patch (for both U1.2 and E1.1), along with the finalized tracks.

Much thanks, qwerty
I tried to contact nonamesd but he did not reply, neither here, mail nor pm. I just checked his link:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zsHI1WOtEGlV11T2dZ0_sPNq19xSGVsS
and see from the state that he updated his pack at 19th January, so it is possible that this work is done twice now.
It's really unfortunate that nonamesd did not reply, so confusion would have been avoided
Edit: He also seem to have updated his files from Sam Miller in DKC2 and DKC3 link
Edit2: your link to USA v1.2: http://www.mediafire.com/?za51slnq6apim2v
seem to be broken

DKC2 and DKC3 aren't finalized yet, so I haven't bothered to keep them up-to-date on my end. I was planning on doing these tracks anyway, regardless of what anybody else did, so I'm not worried about the duplicated effort. My USA v1.2 link should be working (it did when I tried it just now). Maybe you tried it while I was re-uploading (I made a small mistake with my first upload and the volume was a bit too loud, should be fixed now).
@qwertymodo Looks like your Mercurial links were DMCA'ed.

The PAL version link works fine. Not the NTSC link.

Well, that's annoying. I can almost guarantee that all they did was match the filename, without any attempt at actual content matching. I'll try to file a counter-claim and see how that goes.
Ok, I can't seem to file a counter-claim... and I'm not sure I really want to. However, I'm 99% sure they only matched it because I used the No-Intro filenaming format. They've done this before, and it was another DKC (U) (1.2) file. Never gotten a claim on any other pack, and more interestingly, there's no claim against *the exact same files* in the (E) (1.1) pack that's uploaded in the same folder. I'm going to regenerate the PCM's just in case the file checksum is flagged now, and reupload with a different file name and hope for the best. The links should be updated. Fingers crossed I don't pick up a 3rd copyright strike over this
I messed up and forgot to loop the Credits Concerto. Here's a download link for just that one track for anyone who already downloaded it. I'll try to get the main links updated ASAP.

@qwertymodo
if you need to re-upload anyways, could you give the names in the non-mercury pack:
https://www.mediafire.com/?mx1v6bqotzedbea
the name of the convention, means instead of track-x.pcm dkc_msu-x.pcm?
(the same name convention like you already have done it in your Original Resemblance by Qwertymodo set?

Hey uh, it's me. Sorry about the late response. I actually didn't see, that you messaged me..
sorry about that .
I was constantly updating the pack, as you can see on the long update thread on my post and (I think) it was already updated, when you wrote me the messages.
I have also just updated my pack to the final version and am only now seeing that qwertymodo already did it. Sooo now we have two identical packs.

I've been following Sam's project and had always intended on making my own version of the pack, regardless of if anybody else did it as well. Now that I know yours is up-to-date with the final DKC1 files, I'll just post the msu1 packs with my files and leave your link up as the main one for that pack.
I updated my MSU-1 Pack to include 6 new tracks that are better than my previous ones. The new tracks are
- Opening Fanfare
- Title Screen
- Cave Dweller
- Fear Factory
- Bad Boss Boogie
- Funky's Fugue.
The track Funky's Fugue was a much needed update and I found a really good one to use for it recently. Here are the new link to download and new YouTube Video Preview

In the comment sections of my YouTube preview you can find timestamps to each track if you want to listen for yourself. Hope you download and enjoy, and be sure to listen to the new Funky Kong theme.
