But then what about layer 3? Why can't layer 3 then be used in parallaxing to cover up link? It seems as if layer 3 was just for the doors?
You can not assign BG effects to layer 3. Effects can only be assigned to bg2 and thus layer 2. And the option parallaxing can never cover anything, since it is parallaxing, same for translucent etc. Only "on top" will cover everything.
Layer 3 is not "just for the doors", it is a layer which goes over layer 1. Original authors made a choice to put the majority of doors to layer 3, some doors can easily be on layer 1, some doors must be on layer 3, some must be on layer 2 (if Link is on bg2).

Seph if you could in your next update to the compendulum could you explain each of these. I know you can just use trial and error, but still.
Aren't they self-explanatory.

That is right. I'm done with my version of the hack. All I have to do now is write on the title screen "Erock Version" and put in 2018 if I so please. I may need a little help doing this as I've never done it before. Do you seph have the number "8" in that same font? for 2018???

I will then make a video explaining all of the changes I made. Please note that this version was only meant to please me. But I tried to keep Seph's vision in tack as much as possible. Only changed things which I thought could be improved.

I have been working on this for the last 4 days or so non-stop like a full time job. This hyrule magic program is like a crazy girlfriend who can't make up her mind yet you have to put up with her all the time. Really takes a toll on your mind and mental sanity.

Thank you for all of your help for those who helped me. Even though this was just a more polished version of the most current version of the hack it was a TON of work. It was so much work I can't even explain.

I will probably do another playthough of the game and then release it.

The only other thing I may change is the Zelda character tileset. The current one Im just not that found of. So I may ask my pixel artist guy to redraw a brand new entire tileset for zelda during that brief time when you transform into her.

Seph I will need information regarding this since I do not know about pallets and such for the zelda character. I need to know how many colors can I pick and if I am allowed to change those colors to whatever I want.

But yeah, pretty much done. Then Seph you can look at all my changes and see if you want to adapt them to your version.

I have tried finding this font last year when I changed it into 2017, but couldn't find it, so I had to draw my own 7. So you'll have to either draw yours or base it on another font number 8.

I do not know about pallets and such for the zelda character. I need to know how many colors can I pick and if I am allowed to change those colors to whatever I want.
They use the same colors/palettes as Link clothes. So if you have red clothes when you get there, Zelda will have a red dress...

I don't understand why you keep refering to this pixel artist. Can't you just draw it yourself. I'm not a pixel artist at all, but I still could draw a lot of new gfx, from items in inventory to a complete new stomp/small tree. Numbers and letters are the easiest to do.

that was kind of a joke. I will try and draw an 8. basically take those two sevens and cross them into an 8 lol

I tried to find a font for the 2018 that kind of matches the 2017 current font. Here is what I found. What a little modification I think it can work.

P.S. I also included the number 9 for you Seph because you might be working on yours until 2019. lol j/k

Hey check it out. If I try hard enough I can be a pixel artist too.

I took the 7 that seph drew and then flipped it horizontally in photoshop and used transparency to draw over stuff then after some optimization I got what I think is a pretty good looking number 8.

If anyone wants to use this feel free.

I will next be making a video describing everything in a full playthrough so that everyone can understand why I made this version in the first place.

I might also play the game a few more times just to make sure that I'm pleased with everything.

Working off of what was there, I did not edit the title screen graphics location, this was the only space that was available.

I found a new soft-lock.

I forgot to hold reset while restarting the console with SD2SNES so I will get back up to where I left off in terms of progress before recording again and I also accidentally left off a certain tile in the subway dungeon which I will fix.

This was actually filmed with my backup camera. I picked a camera up recently so that I can still film while the other camera is charging. It seems to have some type of auto focus on so it keeps on making this clicking sound all the time so just ignore that if you can.

Have you ever heard about emulator screen recording. Placing a manual camera to film the TV while in a room with no light is really the worst possible choice and picture quality.

Have you ever heard about emulator screen recording.

i have tried programs like this in the past and didn't have good results. plus nothing is as good as original hardware.


Of achieving what. A minor edit of what was already done.

Please note that I didn't really know Hyrule Magic that well, so it is an achievement. Also it took me literally a half of a year and a lot of thought was put into it. Polishing up a game in terms of design is an art.
