Description: It took a year, but it's completed at last. Inspired by Jammin' Sam Miller and his soundtrack restorations of the original SNES trilogy, I'm aiming to do a similar treatment for this version of the game, but with modern virtual instruments. I mean to expand upon the song arrangements so they build a bit more and don't just loop or fade out.

@daniloroxette Thank you for fixing this PCM set (even though you did not have to). Luckily, Qwerty and yourself have placed some videos on YouTube to instruct future "PCM artists" on how to properly make PCM sets. I was just too tired to try to fix this myself (done too much already in coding patches and making my own PCMs). I need a mental break from this.
Unfortunately, we still have some PCM sets that should not be this large, due to 1:1 copies alone and improper editing of the originals to reduce file size. Only exception if the intention of the "PCM Artist" is to keep the extra "fluff" in their set. I expect RPGs to be big in size but not regular platformers. But again, just my opinion.
Nevertheless, thank you for your contributions and hard work. We need you guys just as much as you need us for the patches.

@Conn Done, below is an updated link for danilo's fixed set in case you want to use it as a backup. Your choice to put it up or not (don't really mind). Link below (566MB compressed).

I think dani mentioned some weeks ago that his drive space is limited so I guess he appreciates that he can delete it again.
Therefore I updated the TF download link with yours, dani, feel free to delete the files again

Nice. Gracias.
That's OK. I'll leave the file there because that was just my Google Drive with limitations. I deleted all packs there and upload to Mega account.

I have to wonder if anyone's considered a PCM pack based on the GBA soundtrack. To be clear, I'm well aware that the GBA doesn't support the MSU-1 chip in any shape or form, but I like the GBA version's soundtrack over the SNES version's, and would love to play the SNES version with the GBA's soundtrack.
Hi, Vercalos.
It would not be difficult to do the pack. You are not the first person to suggest this. I haven't done it yet because I don't enjoy the GBA's sound quality. I believe it is unreasonable to render low quality music for use as MSU-1. I am not criticizing the musical quality of the compositions, but the technical quality. The songs are not even in stereo.
There is a restored version of only two songs (which I could find).

They are amazing, but it would be nice if there were more to be interesting. But if I eventually organize a pack with the classic versions of GBA I will report here.

On the second video linked, on the screen, it says:
I don't know if they're still working on it or not, given they released 3 tracks in February and nothing else, but it apparently was in the works.
They also released this track:

This patch is really weird.
Some tracks are spread on multiple PCM's (tracks 13, 43, 44 and 45 all use Jangle Bells, tracks 12, 31 and 40 use Boss Boogie, tracks 26 and 39 use Big Boss Blues and so on), while other tracks are put into one (All 3 Songs played in Wrinkly's Save Cave use track 5) and it seems that also happened to the "Lose Life" and "Stage Clear" tracks.

Hi, NonameSD.
It's not weird. It's just a repetition. We couldn't left only one copy of some themes because the games calls for them at distincts adresses. Conn told us here, a few messages ago, that fix this would require readress all tracks, changing all code (and possibly destabilizing it) and reupload all the pcms.
The different tracks for a Wrinkly were not implemented.
I suppose you have listened the tracks itself with an audio player. Did you notice any irregularities while playing?
If I'm correct, I left an readme.txt inside the packs with a link to the tables that shows the duplications highlighted. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fz_VBt2tThmZ6LTTcoPqqb0XhC-B5ELmnjtGUsOgCfQ/edit?usp=sharing

yes, the code here was also kind of a misery in terms of complexity and this was the best I was able to come up with. I know that you have different ending jingles in the native rom, but it was too inbalanced in regards to gain and effort for me. Also, the repeating tracks cause some more MB of data, nothing more while a merging them in the code may result in gamebreaking bugs and endless playtesting.
If you or anyone else can do a better job, be my guest

Thank you both for the quick reply.
I still don't fully understand why that's the case, but I'm sure you did your best.
On another note, I had some problems with the SPC "Real" PCM Pack. The PCM's are so loud, that you can barely hear the Sound Effects. I had to reduce the volume of them by about 8dB. Also track 36 and 37 have a broken loop.

Hi.
I fixed the Real pack (reduced the volume by -8.0dB and replaced the 36-37 wrong copies from 19). Please, update the link to: https://mega.nz/#!RU401QAY!aVSXhHYypY14a7n-v-uHP4N4L88bWKkgzdopuKA0O1E
_____________
I made a new pack with the GBA themes, using only the original sources. I tried to enhance some tracks, overlaping the tracks with some individual samples obtained from the game itself and applying EQs and effects, but it's a tough process and I don't know if worth the results. For a better sound quality, I recommend we wait the conclusion of the restoration/remixing project from R1ggles (unfortunately, without news since Feb).
DKC3 GBA Themes pack download: https://mega.nz/#!hJh30IgI!PCEJBLE2DuqBphZJojeXFZuKji5_IK3br0AQVk56dTk

I also made a possible art to cover the restored tracks pack;
And I suggest replace the Tropical Freeze cover with the nex one because the current image have a distorted aspect ratio and that makes me sad.

Thanks dani, please check if i did everything correct. The restored tracks logo is for those 4 tracks by Sam Miller last in the list, right?
That's correct. Thank u. Soon, I'll record a video preview for GBA themes.
Hey, Conn. Please, update the following;

and I also suggest to replace the word Remastered to Remixed in the description of the OCRemix pack.

Let me know if I left any thing out.
MSU-1 patch doesn't work with european (german) Rom
If i apply this patch, rom won't start
If i apply this patch, rom won't start
mh, if I read the included readme, it says:
Could this be the reason why it doesn't work on a german rom?
Imprtant notes:
- FOR NON-HEADER USA version ONLY. If you do not know what a header is, or how to remove it (there are several tools), check http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=17597.0
Ususally *.smc is with header, *.sfc without.
Preparation:
1.
apply donkeyKongCountry3_msu1.ips on your Non-Headered US version of Donkey Kong Country 3 rom. Usual name is Donkey Kong Country 3 - Dixie Kong's Double Trouble (U) [!].sfc). Alternatively, you can also use the donkeyKongCountry3_msu1.asm.
2.
Rename your rom into dkc3_msu.sfc (dkc3_msu.sfc, not dkc-msu1.sfc or whatever).
Could this be the reason why it doesn't work on a german rom?
Conn wrote:[...]

That could be the reason. My European DKC3 ROM is also without header, but it just does not start when patched. I wonder if there is anything that can be done.
With the ROM of DKC2 I could simply create a patch from the patched file together with the original file, which works with the European version without problems, but with the ROM of DKC3 it does not work
I hope you can understand me because I am working with a translator because my English is not so good.
You see, it is not too difficult to port games into another language but with over 170 patches in our database, I simply refuse starting it. If I did, people want to have the english, japanese, french, spanish, german v1.0,v1.1, v1.2 and whatever version pal/ntsc out there. It is simply too much.
However I completely understand if people request RPG:s - for these games advanced english skills are necessary... but jump'n runs'? Mario, it's me, please heeeeelp! Please
Sieh es einfach als gute Chance an Englisch zu lernen

Okay and thanks anyway. It was worth a try and it doesn't cost anything to ask
