help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
I have been having a problem patching the game with the MSU-1 patch, everything is going well until I enter the bubble crab level, when the big robot fish appears a sound like a submachine gun sounds and sounds very loud, the sound It stops when I destroy it but it is annoying and I think I might patch it badly, something similar happens at the level of flame stag, it sounds like an aquatic sound when the lava rises, I don't know if anyone could help me :"(.

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
Hi, I moved your bug report into the msu section, please post such reports in future directly into the database entry for MX2. I'll try to reproduce your bug, did you play sd2snes or an emulator?

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
I use snes9x version 1.60, my emulator of preference, mistakes always happen to me

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
I should have in 2 hours some time to check what's wrong. Which pcm set did you use? It's probably a bug with the patch otherwise you'd have encountered a freeze or crash bug, also the patch is bps things cannot go wrong with this format
Edit, whoops it is ips. Ah well I'll check later

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
Hmm, sorry, I couldn't reproduce the bugs (tried both bug fish and lava in snes9x and bsnes). Maybe you have the wrong rom (non-US or header). Can anybody else test to reproduce the bug?

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
How strange, whenever I enter the bubble crab level and the flame stag level those bugs happen to me, sometimes they happen a little later, but I'm sure they are there, at the bubble crab level it sounds like a machine gun and at the flame level stag when lava rises sounds like when bubble crab makes its bubble to protect itself, I tried several roms, even with one that has a translation patch but I always get the bugs, I would send you a video of these bugs but I don't know how to do it

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
just investigated more about it, bugs occur if you play the game in order, starting with wire sponge, and then to wheel gator and then bubble crab, a submachine gun is heard when the robot fish appears, sometimes it sounds a little later, it sounds like when wheel gator makes his drill attack, and the flame stag, after beating bubble crab when lava rises is heard when the crab makes its bubble shield

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
Ok now I can confirm this bug. But I have unfortunate news. I thought in first place it had to do with my last tinkerings with dr. Light theme, but this also happens in DarkShock's original patch... I do not understand what he was doing since there is no source code, thus i am unable to fix it. Only darkshock could but he wasn't seen for ages

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
This is a really weird bug, I was digging deeper and everything is alright with the code, but somehow the apu was messed up before. Since this bug only happens after having defeated a boss, I think here is something weird happening with the apu.
E.g., if I let me give a password and use this password the bug is gone.

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
With some huge effort I may have found out the bug source. Please test attached whether everything is alright (also if msu acts like it should, as said, it was some incredible tinkering and I may have broken other stuff). Did I already mentioned that I hate to stir into other people's patched?

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
What do you mean by "what is it"? A revision of DS patch that may fix your bug. Just apply to a snes rom and check if your found bugs are gone, I cross fingers!

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
apply the patch but have something like audio delay or game transitions slowed down

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
also when the capcom logo appears its iconic melody does not sound, it seems that the audio was out of sync with the game or something

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
ok, here's v3 that fixes the capcom.
I didn't notice slowdowns, are you sure?

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
rather, it feels as if the game and the music were not synchronized, I mean, the music sounds before the scene transition, but I will see how it goes with this new patch

Re: help to patch Mega Man X2 with MSU1
I discovered some more bugs, like the non-loop tracks did loop, try below v5 (sorry).
Also the sync should be even more better now
