I'm working on creating MSU1 PCM Packs for Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow for Game Boy.
I created a chart for Conn or MSU1 Patch Creators to create patches for Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow with MSU1 Support.
If anyone who wants to help out to create MSU1 PCM Packs. I'll have a link to the chart below.

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Generation 1 MSU1
SGB is very complex to create msu1 patches for since you not only need to know snes asm but also some complex GB asm (like data transfer). I was highly motivated for Final Fantasy Adventure since this was the game of my childhood and also tried to contribute something for LA (which is qwerty's project <-good news on this, he's currently advancing the code).I created a chart for Conn
But yeah, I retire, so nothing more to expect from me

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Generation 1 MSU1
It's complete different asm. You need the snes asm AND the gb asm. Furthermore you need to send data to the sgb (track change in gb)... it's possible but far from trivial.

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Generation 1 MSU1
Update: I just finished created PCM Packs for Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow.
Can anyone host these files for me while someone is working on MSU1 Patch? It's way too big to fit in my Cloud Storage.
The files are not converted to PCM Files. Just the Raw Files with JSON Script Files that I created. (Just in case if the Tracks was changed).
Send me a Private Message with a invite link or instructions.

Use another host like Mega or OneDrive. Mega gives you 50GB.

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Generation 1 MSU1
50GB is NOT Free Forever! It goes down to 15GB after 30 days. Because of that. Most of the files that are 16GB or more will be lost forever.Relikk wrote:Use another host like Mega or OneDrive. Mega gives you 50GB.
As I'm saying. All the files I have for Pokemon Gen 1 MSU1 PCM Packs are 7.5GB of data. My Cloud Storage don't have any room.
Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Generation 1 MSU1
All you need for mega is a fake mail address. 15gb-7.5gb=7.5gb... forever. Or do I oversee anything?

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Generation 1 MSU1
That sounds pretty strange, the free account I registered Oct 17 2016 still has 50GB of total space available.
Maybe it's a limitation only affecting more recent created free accounts ?

Once you create an account you have 50GB. And there are other alternatives, like I said.

You'll must apply it only the french version of Pokémon Yellow called "Pokemon - Version Jaune - Edition Speciale Pikachu (France) (GBC,SGB Enhanced).gb".
I tested your French Version. MSU1 is not playing. Just Original Game Boy Music.
Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Generation 1 MSU1
Oh, I'm watching this thread VERY closely. Those PCM's in the folder sound fantastic!

Pokemon R/B: work in progress patches!
Hey all. I've made slightly-further-than-proof-of-concept patches for Pokémon Red and Blue. The basic stuff is in, including track playing, fading and ducking. It's designed such that the Game Boy music will still play when not played on SGB.
I've also made sure that it's somewhat compatible with existing Pokémon Red/Blue save files.
I've used the PCM packs that are in this thread, although some tracks I feel will need to be remastered (I do have copies of the anime tracks that I could use for it). I began working on this patch before I was aware of this thread (and forum), so it uses a different track ordering than the one that's proposed here.
If allowed, I can post a link to the patch's source code, it is based off the Pokémon Red disassembly and is buildable (thus assets from the original game are present)
Either way, enjoy and let me know if you experienced any problems or bugs.
Also should I split this into it's own thread, or keep it here?

Uh nice, a new msu hacker, now the old ones all went into retirement
You can keep the thread here of course or make a new one, just as you like. When you are finished (bug-free as far as you can make it) feel free to post the project into the database
Do you also use the data_snd method? Feel free to post your source here, especially if you need help, though except qwertymodo or I, I don't expect other people here being able to help you out with asm.
In case it helps I attached the ffa source to this post

Yep, used it for the bootstrapping and the music update stuff.
The source is here: https://github.com/ZoomTen/pokered-sgb-audio/tree/msu1
The MSU1 bootstrapping code is located at audio/msu1/xkasm and it needs xkas to build it (and python 3 for the ASM generation)

That's awesome I know how difficult it is to set it up! I gave you the rank of an ASM hacker... If you need help with anything, I'll try to help as good I can.

Thanks for the report! I'll look into them.
Brutapode89 wrote:And can you do the same thing the hack of the french version (This hack is the original game but without needed trading), please?
That appears to be Yellow, I haven't even started on that yet
My plan is to finish up Red/Blue then apply the patches to Yellow
And since it's a French version, that appears to be more challenging since I kinda depend on the disassemblies which are only available for the English version (I changed a whole bunch of stuff and everything would probably need a lot of relocating lol)

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Generation 1 MSU1
For no reason. The MSU1 Audio will not play on SD2SNES Pro / FXPAK Pro!
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening MSU1 works great on SD2SNES Pro / FXPAK Pro with no issues.
All files are named pokemon_red_msu1 and pokemon_blue_msu1.
Is there something I missed?
