Joining the first 8 colors of link's palette to the sword and shield palettes?

I know this sounds like a strange question but, are there any patches that will allow for half of link's palette to be shared with the sword and shield palettes?
The reason I ask this is because, I want the ability to use more colors for link's sword and shield.
