I'll upload it elsewhere when I get home if my crazy women leaves me some time on the computer that is!
I tried following the instructions to put an .avi on a New Game, but I never managed to get it working. Pity, really.

SePH managed with my tutorial without needing my assistance even, but I admit it is a bit difficult. At which step is the Problem?
In the meanwhile you could try this Video with a track 35. The Video will only Show up when creating a new character.

My problem was that, despite following the instructions, I was never able to successfully complete step 5 - converting the video to 256 colors.

Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
I checked my tutorial and was successfully transforming a Video.
Please redownload
http://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/stuff/Con/zelda3_msu.zip
and open the tutorial in optional Videos. It should be much clearer now
You can simply copy a line and paste it with right mouseclick into the dosprompt; this makes things much easier.

yes as programmer you Need to be pedantic ^^
I hope it works as I do not know how to trace bugs here as everything is fine in bsnes. But it is Ikari_01 Player I am using so it should work on sd2snes as well
I go sleeping now

Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
Got the .msu file, renamed it to my ROM (alttp_msu.msu), changed bytes 02-04 to read 02 02 01, and yet I cannot get it to work in either higan (with the .bml), bsnes (v75) or SD2SNES. Frustration...
And I have such an awesome video made up for the opening...!

Here's the introduction sequence I did for my hack ;-)
Uploaded it to dropbox instead of youtube so they won't take it down!

Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
*gosh, that seems to be more complicated.
You see, bsnes 0.65d (this Emu also Plays wav instead of pcm) Plays the Video without Problems. Try to find a bsnes Version 0.65 or 0.68.
Also laevatinn Debugger plays it, so I right now have no possibility to debug or trace what the issue with 0.75 is. Since byuu didn't release a Debugger after laevetinn/bsnes 0.65d.
The only try I can take is indirectly search for the mistake by making breaks to see to which Point the code is executed in bsnes 0.75, but earliest on monday
Maybe you can Point Ikari here? I unfortunately am away from my Computer but can watch this Topic with my phone.
Edit: I tend to think the Video starts playing after Setting some first game crashes. However there's a malificious code telling it that it already ended before it began (e.g., I made the function to break up the Video by button press).
As said, I'll examine the Problem in 2 days or so.

Out of curiosity I added the bugfix patches, too. Seems to work. ^^ MSU-1 and tuned pegasus boots and stuff :-D Next: Add the Video of TheRetromancer. I did that in the past already. Lets see how it works out
Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
Here's an upload of my (supposedly) correctly converted video and the audio file to go along with it.
Could you see if you can get it working, emuandco, and fix anything I did wrong if possible?

Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
I converted my own ^^ I ripped the youtube video in mp4 480p and then used it as base.
http://dreimer.eu/msu/optional_video.7z
(Still uploading about 15 min)
Works great.
EDIT: Yours works fine, too.
I wonder if it's possible to work the Video stuff out like RoadBlaster did it, I mean several clips. The Zeldamotion Intro rocks, too

Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
Are you testing in an emulator or on the SD2SNES? And please tell me exactly how you're getting them to work, regardless of which way. I can't even get it working on any version of BSNES, higan, or the flashcart.
I actually plan on making a very minor hack to my own Zelda ROM, wherein I remove the in-game 'telepathic message' from Zelda, so that the video will show Link waking up, and immediately have Link's Uncle tell him that he's going out. It's very minor, as I said, but I really like the idea of the 'flow' from one medium (the video) to the actual in-game events.
I ripped it at 1080p, shoved it into Premiere, did a bit of slicing and dicing on video and audio, threw in a dissolve at the end, exported the video and audio separately, and went from there.

Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
sd2snes. I overwrote the 0 byte MSU file and added the track 35. Patch I used is in Conn's archive. I first patched the MSU patch in there to an expanded Zelda US ROM verified with no-intro, then the optional video one. Works nicely.
Here the working ROM:
Moderator edit: ROMs are not allowed on this site. Don't post Roms or Rom links on this site. Convert them to patches (IPS, UPS, Xdelta).

MSU, Optional Video and the bugfix patches for alttp.
Yours works as fine as mine, but I used a compressed step in between (YT), so lets use yours.

Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
Thanks for that. I just checked with a Hex compare, and 121 bytes are different. I don't know if they made all the difference (because I also implemented a bunch of those patches), but we'll see.
EDIT: *sigh* No luck with ANYTHING. I can't even get the augmented music to play in higan or BSNES...
I would appreciate it if you posted a pic or something, or a detailed list of where and what directory you put everything in the SD2SNES. I'm getting rather annoyed with this not working for me...

Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
Not at home right now. I copied the msu file in there and it over wrote my 0 byte one. Sound is named as you did it already. The Video only starts at a new game btw. What's going wrong over there? What does it do?
Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
It doesn't play. I start a brand new game and...nothing. It plays like an un-modified game.
I just had a thought occur to me, though - is it save-file specific, I wonder? I'm starting a new game on File 3 - maybe there's a glitch there. I'll test it on the other two in a moment.
EDIT: Yep. Works on save 1. However, I'm getting some visual glitches during playback. That doesn't matter - I can redo this at any time. This is a great step forward for me, personally.

Save state 2 worked for me...
well. I don't see any glitches. SD card too slow maybe. I have two which fail for MSU stream too

Re: Enable MSU streaming music for Alttp
My SD card came through Stoneagegamer as part of their deluxe model, so maybe. It's actually visual glitches, so I'm going to see about a few things.
