Mega Man 7 :: Comments
The google drive was giving error here but it seems that now it's back to normal, I'm sorry.
In case you or someone is interested, the MSU-1 works with Refit, but only partially. It will crash as soon as you hit Burst Man with any weapon.darthvaderx wrote:OMorty wrote:Does anyone know how well the following hacks play with each other...
MSU-1 + Restoration (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3609/)?
MSU-1 + Refit (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3336/)?
MSU-1 + Restoration + Refit?
I'm sorry for the late reply, but only now that I updated the MSU-1 hack, but for me it works like this:
Refit + Redux (Restoration already included) + MSU-1
Works perfectly fine with Restoration or vanilla game.

I stopped using Redux mainly now that they released the Japanese Style Logo hack (which is not compatible), now I only use 'MM7 Restoration' which works very well.
Yeah, though i never used Redux in the past. I use Restoration for the most complete MM7 and Refit for a little change of pace.darthvaderx wrote:niuus wrote:In case you or someone is interested, the MSU-1 works with Refit, but only partially. Again, as with TMNT IV, there is no source code for either patch to make them compatible in a quick manner. If this is important to you, please consider contacting the author of the patch to relocate code elsewhere.niuus wrote:In case you or someone is interested, the MSU-1 works with Refit, but only partially. I found a new bug that I thought happened when the hack was mixed with Redux or Restoration, but then I saw that it happened with the normal rom. In the game's demo scenes there is one where rain falls, but when it ends and the title appears the rain noise continues
Conn wrote:With normal rom you mean stock/vanilla rom? Then it is also not a problem with MSU
Sorry if I wasn't clear, the stock/vanilla rom is normal, the bug happens when I apply the MSU-1 patch, try to watch the demo until the end until you return to the title screen.
Holy cow. I wasn't asking for a fix, merely responding to @OMorty and @darthvaderx questions, which could have been relevant to anyone in the future when it stumbles the thread...pepillopev wrote:Again, as with TMNT IV, there is no source code for either patch to make them compatible in a quick manner. I start missing the last weeks with no bug reports. It could be cool if you can send a video. If it's small I leave my hands off, if severe I may try to fix.i don't think there's s way ds fixing his stuff selfSorry if I wasn't clear, the stock/vanilla rom is normal, the bug happens when I apply the MSU-1 patch, try to watch the demo until the end until you return to the title screen.

Ok OK.
Megaman VII MSU-1 bug.
ok, ok... that stuff isn't very easy.
I attahced a code which calls an addidional routine. Pease test it thoroughly whether it breaks msu at another place (or spc plays together with msu)... such things

@Conn Is it possible that you please update your patch of the Japanese version of the ROM? The NTSC-J already had its separate MSU patch on your previous release.
I have tried to edit your (Japanese) patch by adding your additional code but unfortunately, doing so leave a black screen immediately after the Capcom logo.

Uh, I was a bit sloppy when updating the archieve. There were missing all docs, msu file and the japa version.
I ported the new rain adjustments to rockman, and hope they work. I loathe MM so much in the meanwhile (whch resulted out of the dozens MMX requests and versions) that I don't even want to test - I leave that to you
The stock rom I patched again was named "Rockman 7 - Shukumei no Taiketsu! (Japan) (Sample).sfc" - I hope that is the correct version.
Clear your browser history if you still get the old patch only.

Many thanks Conn, for updating the Japanese version.
Unfortunately I experiment the same issue with you new version (black screen after the Capcom logo), at least using my SD2SNES Pro.
The correct ROM version should have 31F18DDA as CRC (No-intro ROM name is: Rockman 7 - Shukumei no Taiketsu! (Japan).sfc), I used it with your previous revisions and they worked perfectly.

Ok, clear browser history and download again. New japa patch file is in bps format, size 414 bytes
I can confirm new japanese patch also works perfect with Zynk Oxhydes excellent english translation.
Posted a combined patch here

Perfect, many thanks Conn, as Retroplay wrote, your last Japanese patch iteration works flawlessly (using my SD2SNES Pro).
Thanks again for your awesome work.
