Gradius III :: Comments
The gr3-msu1.msu is just a simple blank file. Create a dummy file and just rename it as such (good to go). I added it to both my pcm set and patch (as you requested too).darthvaderx wrote:Hello, you did not put the "gr3-msu1.msu" file in the package.

Incredible!! Finally a SNES shooter gets some MSU1 love.
I'd love to see more of this genre, along with some puzzles perhaps (Panel de Pon, Dr. Mario, etc)
Edit: the Drive link is dead.

The 2nd link is hosted by Kurrono and was brought down temporarily for maintenance.

Excellent work guys! I love shmups and was wondering when someone would notice the potential on SNES to enhance the system's usual suspects (Axelay, Super Aleste, UN Squadron /Area 88, Super R-Type, R-Type III, Sonic Wings, etc) considering the amount of both official and unofficial fan remixes of their soundtracks.
Conn, may I suggest you change the name of the top from "shooters" to ""shmups"?
PeppiloPEV, what is the source of the music form your soundpack? It this an official Konami CD release or something else? Need it to write an article about it.

Kurrono will be the man to ask. I got the samples from him. Right now, I'm trying to find the original non amplified versions. I really love this game and would love to get the music at the right volume level. Some of the tracks were clipped so bad which makes it difficult to fix.
Kurrono's pcm link works now and can be downloaded in first post.
I also updated your video to the first post, Shiryu, hope this is ok with you PEV
I'm also thinking curretnly in splitting the Jump 'n run section, gets overcrowded. Maybe: PLatform - Jump 'n run and Platform - Shooter.
The differences are that in Jump 'n runs you can jump on enemies (SMW, DKC), while in others you need to shoot them (Metroid, Contra). While the borders are fluent, take the fire flower in SMW.
Any suggestions?

Better not I never heard about shmups, but I renamed this category now to the full name "Shmups" = "Shoot 'em up" in contrast to the section "Beat em up"Coon, may I suggest you change the name of the top from "shooters" to ""shmups"?

Platforms= Super Mario World, DKC, etc
Run'n'Gun = Contra, Super Turrican, Super Metroid
Shmup = Axelay, Super Aleste, Gradius III, Super R-Type, etc.
Conn, are the PCM files taken from Konami's official arrangement album? I have so much "Gradius" albums I was unable to find where these came from.

Shiryu u asking the wrong guy..Conn is our asm master coder kz..the ones doing pcms are me and Pev
@Shiryu: Nice, I made the new section Jump 'n Gun, wasn't sure about Flashback, so I left it in Jump 'n Run.
Pev needs in any case some more tracks (he uses some spc converted pcm:s) so if you have some nice tracks on some albums, he's maybe able to substitute all his tracks

Some tracks are from OverClockRemix, JCE3000GT (YouTube), NintendoCode (YouTube), teckworks (YouTube). That is so far what I know.
Can you list what themes are still needed to be substituted in your set, this could make it easier for people to suggest some...

As usual I have the arcade soundtrack CD if anyone's interested in an arcade pcm pack. I have a feeling not all of the tracks of the SNES equivalent are there, though. There was new music composed for certain parts of the SNES version. Still...
Bacterion lairsnin arcade is way shorter and it has final shot music on it..
Plus all thr bosses have the Dark..song ..no sharp shoot...
Crystal butterfly dont have her song like snes...is a regular rush boss music like the others....last sttuggle is not on arcade either..only cool on arcade is the screams from bacterion
.u hear baby voices and his voice ..he talks
