Gradius III :: Comments
Re: Gradius III
It is a nice track but it does not work well with the flow of the other tracks in my pcm set. Only way I would use this track is if I use all the Gradius V tracks (like I did with Vomitron in Contra 3).
I'm more about the music flowing smoothly through stages. Using this track to me on my pcm set is like an equivalent to being at a party (playing hip hop music), then all of a sudden someone throws a polka song out of nowhere. Get it?
I know I am being picky, but again, this is why there are alternate pcm track sets from different people here in the forum. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.
I have no objection in you using it in your own PCM set. The more the merrier

Yeah I'm 3 tracks short of a full arcade soundtrack replacement so, I'm going to have to go searching for alternatives. Maybe there was an X68000 version, not sure off the top of my head. Time to investigate.
I found some cd smthing but it doesnt bring all songs...its weird..no good collections of song anywhere
Oh the song Dead end cell im,using is arcade version...the snes one ..i cant find no arranged nor remix about that...even somebody posted that arcade one using spc format...sounds kinda weird..like is not fit for super nes..
Oh the X68000 version is same as the arcade..same music

Okay, so I did the "Arcade" soundtrack, it's as close as you're going to get as there are some tracks in the SNES version that aren't on the arcade version such as the first boss, crystal boss, and continue screen. First boss is just replaced with regular boss music and the crystal and continue tracks are just the normal SNES versions.

You can use dark force=boss 2.. 5.pcm for all bosses even the last boss to keep it arcade way.
Now boss rush... arcade version has only 3 songs..
Preboss is aircrafr carrier
1st rush boss ..poison of snake
4 bosses goes here...take care song
Last one is 5. pcm dark force again

Last one is 5. pcm dark force again
So for boss rush 1st to 4th boss play Take Care..
Poison of snake song removed...the boss with the spinning for long legs is removed from this game..is only on the arcade....
And next is 5th boss =5.pcm
so 1st to 4th is take care song on all of them if u want to keep it arcade style.... so pcms 18 to 21 must play =take care song as the arcade..
As u,can see snes version has different songs for all bossrush ..each one of them..not on arcade version

Thanks, I just played for a while with both soundtracks. They're both killer. Great work, Conn, PepilloPEV, and Kurrono
The magic of msu1 makes this games..like u want to play games from the past in a new music level experience like neva before..

Anyone want to add this to the first post?
Got another set here. It's from the Midi Power X68000 Collection ver. 3.0 album.

This is interesting. Some dude SA-1 enhanced the game to get rid of a lot of the slowdown.
You beat me to it but there is a new update today. Should it still work with msu1? https://github.com/VitorVilela7/SA1-Root
There were a lot of memory addresses moved around to accommodate the SA-1 patch, so it makes sense that the MSU1 hack doesn't work with it. It'd need to be checked over by one of the ASM guys if they're interested.
@Relikk It was nothing difficult to do (just had to relocate updated MSU-1 code to a different location, as you had mentioned in your previous post). Tested and finished game in Arcade mode w/o issue. Needs testing in SD2SNES Pro but you will need a silent track 0 to avoid buzzing sound (introduced by adding spc fallback to the code). See * notes up top to get the latest BPS patch.
@ToAll Sorry, but all you old SD2SNES owners are out of luck having SA-1 and MSU-1 together. So please, no complaints about not getting PCM audio from the game. That is Krikzz/Ikari/Magno's problem, not mine. If you really want this feature, my guess it is time to invest in a SD2SNES Pro. Or pray to the Video Game Gods that SA-1 and MSU-1 can co-exist on older hardware some day. Your choice.
And as always, Happy Gaming...
